A hot plug doesnt make your engine run hotter. A hotter plug should be run when the weather is hotter or if it humid ( Less o2 in the air so you need a hotter spark to keep the combustion cycles running smoothly) It will advance your timing alittle too by starting the fuel charge burning earlier in the stroke.
