Ryan,
My post was directed at the question from a STOCK perspective. By light I meant less durable. It's far from the strongest thing I've seen, but by my own admission, I have not seen everything out there. I'm talking stock.
If he's talking about buying a ready to race truck that's already been worked over, it's a different story, but I thought doing it yourself was big part of the hobby.
Too weak refers to the stock engine/pipe compared to high end smallblocks/bigblocks that some people choose to run.
I didn't mean to suggest he would crash-break, but stock parts break and bend from just running and getting run into.
As for the rest (chassis, servo, box), everything on any truck can be made better for more money. If he's looking to buy a modded up Revo, he will have sidestepped the "hobby" version and moved straight to the "race" version. All good moves if you can afford it.
I hope this helps you understand where I was coming from. Having purchased a stock Revo, I have a viewpoint that reflects my experience with the truck and my changes to make it better for my usage.
I did intend my post to be a reference (not that Rocco needed me to tell him about it because he knows all of this by now), especially for a person (someone brand new to RC)who may read this and make a buying decision on a new Revo versus a new Savage, with the intention of racing with it.
