I personally would stick to the stock shoes... I have had great sucess with them, so i personally feel there isnt a reason to change.
Not sure what springs you were running( prolly stock 1.0's) which is perfectly fine. Just try and do matinance on them a little more often and you will get 2 to 3 gallons easy from them.
