Starter box question - Obsessive R/C - 08-25-2005

This may be a dumb question but here goes...

Is there any reason that I couldn't bump start a roto-start engine??

Starter box question - dentguy92 - 08-25-2005

no

Do you need one, I have one for sale in the for sale section

Starter box question - Tex - 08-25-2005

you can bump any engine that has a pull or roto start as long as it's a bump start ready chassis

Starter box question - dentguy92 - 08-25-2005

chassis and some have a dif. motor mount...

Starter box question - Tex - 08-25-2005

what do you mean? I'm not familiar with the "motor mount"

Starter box question - cemeb4dk - 08-25-2005

I think he means that some buggy engine mounts will not work when engines have backplates such as pullstarts or rotostarts. Usually the backplates hit the plates that mount to the engine.

At least this is what I think he is referring to

Starter box question - MX_KEVIN - 08-26-2005

On my new Mayhem ST with the roto start, the motor mounts are taller than my Mayhem buggy because the roto start stuf hangs lower. That raises the flywheel to far to reach the BUMP WHEEL.I cant wait to put a back plate in that sportworks .26. Its already as fast as the buggy with a VZB Big Grin

Starter box question - cemeb4dk - 08-26-2005

Does the mayhen have two plats that mount to the chassis then the engine mounts mount to that.

That is the way my Kyoshos are, and when I had my K2 and used a pullstart engine in my truggy, I was able to notch the plates and the engine would fit fine and be able to use the bump box. Just an idea...

No there just taller mounts

then when you use the bump box, either cut them down or use these
