20 to 30 percent change will not affect tuning that much, something else is wrong (probably just needs to be fully re-tuned).
30% will make the motor run cooler and faster, always run 30% IMO.

Is the RC scene cooling off? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 07-08-2008

20% runs cooler actually

Is the RC scene cooling off? - J-Dub - 07-08-2008

I've always had 20% Run Hotter. Methanol Burns hotter than Nitro.

Is the RC scene cooling off? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 07-08-2008

I thought the same thing talked to ed bridges and rich reid about it and they both said more nitro burns hotter more power and less run time

Is the RC scene cooling off? - J-Dub - 07-09-2008

Lol then why is it higher nitro fuels burn cooler. from 20% to 30% engine temps dropped for me.

Why does Odonnell 20% run cooler than Top Fuel 20% ?

Is the RC scene cooling off? - Ponch - 07-09-2008

Because TF is junk

I only bought it at first because one of the guys at hobbytown said i had to use it in my S-maxx or void the warranty.
I think i might be off the thread subject.

Is the RC scene cooling off? - J-Dub - 07-09-2008

lol how are they gonna know what you burnt in your engine. its BS run byrons. unless blue thunder, makes your engine blue. Lol

Is the RC scene cooling off? - Ponch - 07-09-2008

Exactaly... What J-Dub said.

Is the RC scene cooling off? - Tex - 07-09-2008

Odonnel and Byrons makes your engine have a brown oil coating on it so they will know.
Either way they don't care they just say that to sell more fuel.

Is the RC scene cooling off? - J-Dub - 07-10-2008

figured the brown coating was normal on the piston from combustion Lol. Im going with what Tex said...Traxxas's Customer service wouldnt be what it was if they said "F U, U DIDNT BUY TOP FUEL OOLLOLOLOLOL"

Is the RC scene cooling off? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 07-10-2008

the coating on everything is oil burn off as well as the color. Ive heard some bad things about the byrons gen 2 shit now maybe I should go back to werks fuel

Is the RC scene cooling off? - J-Dub - 07-10-2008

I've not had an issue with the new fuel. It runs cooler, from the old fuel I was significantly richer with same needles. 3 gallons and the Vag is still running strong, LOL. we'll see what happens when I get to about 5 or 6

This is Brokefreak.. The scene here in Michigan sucks! No one bashin over here and the track down the steet ( dirtburners) closed. I do still get out on some construction sites near me. When I want to piss off the neightbors I run my truck on the lawn. Is the Chicago scene still hoppn?

Is the RC scene cooling off? - Tex - 08-13-2008

Sup dude! long time...

Is the RC scene cooling off? - firesprink281 - 08-15-2008

whats up freak!

Is the RC scene cooling off? - rcguy8038 - 11-02-2008

Overall,I think the rc scene is expanding ever since they showed the IFMAR world finals on Speed TV.

Is the RC scene cooling off? - Tex - 11-02-2008

yep, I was at a party last night and the guys were talking about the nitro RC cars they saw on Speed channel....I just happen to over hear the conversation and walked over to them and was telling them more about the hobby.

Is the RC scene cooling off? - rcguy8038 - 11-02-2008

Well hopefully you got them into RC Smile It's always good to have RC expanding...my local hobby shop is an hour away Dx

Is the RC scene cooling off? - Blown5.0 - 11-06-2008

What's up guys. I haven't been on the forum too much, but have still been messing around with the RC's on occasion. So far I am really diggin my 1/5th scale HPI Baja as it's easy to tune, will sit and idle forever and get close to 45 minutes of run time on some good ol 87-93 octane fuel. Sometimes will throw a bit of race fuel from the Mustang in it just for the smell...LOL. Ended up selling off all my nitro's in favor of the gas stuff. We'll see, but I may end up picking up a Slash to mess around with as they look pretty cool and are fairly cheap if I don't really like it.

Sup Tex....how's Texas treating you?

Is the RC scene cooling off? - Tex - 11-07-2008

what up Scott!

Texas is awesome....weather is great!

Is the RC scene cooling off? - rcguy8038 - 12-20-2008

I would like to be in Texas....no snow or ice.

Is the RC scene cooling off? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 12-20-2008

didnt texas just get some snow? I know las vegas got snow and I think even Louisiana did too

Is the RC scene cooling off? - Tex - 12-24-2008

yeah we got like 0 inches or so...lol....didn't even stick...it has been cold here a few times lately (30-32 or so) but today it sunny with a high of 70 so back to shorts and flip flops...
