IM getting an 8th scale soon. What should I get.

New Buggy Soon - motoxer4life - 02-21-2008

mbx5r

New Buggy Soon - J-Dub - 02-21-2008

I was figuring you guys would suggest that. Seems to be the ticket. It's either that or the Xray 808, but save for parts availability I'm probably going to be getting the mugen.

New Buggy Soon - hansarvin - 02-21-2008

The Xray 808 isn't out yet.

New Buggy Soon - pwnzor - 02-21-2008

Odonnell Z01B......it will be out real soon.

808 will be march/april. If I can get Mugen sooner I might. Odonnel...IDK...Prolly won't be getting parts at LH. I have a really hard time making up my mind and I want the best thing I can get. I have an aggressive driving style, Looking for something that can compliment that.

New Buggy Soon - blktransam - 02-21-2008

I think the rc8 takes "agressive" driving fairly well...

New Buggy Soon - J-Dub - 02-21-2008

It looks like a nice buggy, seems to have breakage issues though. but they got thunder-tiger plastic comin so we'll see. Any Im taking ANY input anyone wants to give me.

basically I want something that i'm not going to be "dissapointed" in Tongue

New Buggy Soon - slaytanic - 02-21-2008

I would go with the Mugen. It's proven and tons of parts and support. My next choice would be tho Odonnels. But you don't know how that will fair yet. Even if it's great it might not take if there isn't the support. I think it will be a hot ticket though.

New Buggy Soon - J-Dub - 02-21-2008

Odonnel looks like any other buggy to me, def will NOT be a choice. Big Grin

Don't meant to rain on anyones parade.

So we're down to RC8 and Mugen.

New Buggy Soon - motoxer4life - 02-22-2008

The 5r drives like a truggy, im on the gas the whole time.

New Buggy Soon - pwnzor - 02-22-2008

Odonnell z01b is the next world champ........start crying now people Wink

New Buggy Soon - blktransam - 02-22-2008

I have raced my rc8 3 weeks now and never broke one thing....knock on wood lol...and the only king head item I have is the top plate. if you dont ram into walls and etc etc it should have no prb. staying together

TE QIERO! !>!?1?!??! !LLOLO!!kl!11!1!11

New Buggy Soon - Ponch - 02-22-2008

If you're a balls to the wall driver, get the mugen. If you're slightly more conservative, get the rc8.

I drove the sh!t out of my mugen and it got me tq. Get it setup right and you can go as fast as you want.

New Buggy Soon - J-Dub - 02-22-2008

Thank you, Ponch. I was looking for first hand experience. I will be picking one up next weekend, hopefully.

Anyone know what a 5r Kit runs at LH? I dont wanna order offline, but if its way cheaper I will

New Buggy Soon - Rob Kass - 02-22-2008

DUB, thanks for pitting wed. Dang flameout in the main!

Get the mooogen and dont look back. 5R kits are $590 and reg ones are going for as low as $320 online. 5R has alot of goods well worth the xtra$$$.

New Buggy Soon - J-Dub - 02-23-2008

like I said I'll help anyone I can, Pitting, dropping during practice. etc, I know its a pain in the ass to keep an engine running, while running up the stairs, so I do a service when I'm not running my hunk. Lol

Thats like 590 at the shop right? I like to support LH cause they made us a ba track. lol

New Buggy Soon - J-Dub - 02-24-2008

What tools will I need to build this vehicle. I'm guessing I will have to pick up a 3mm Driver and a 5.5mm Nut Driver lol. NUT LOL!

New Buggy Soon - motoxer4life - 02-24-2008

I use these for mine and they work perfect. Theyre metric sizes 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0mm. They work for juat about every screw except a few which is just a bigger hex which comes with the kit. All the hexs that you need come with the kit but these are alot easier to use with the longer handles and stuff. I would also get some good grease like that mobil 1 red stuff to use on the diffs, one tube will last a long time. Good choice on the mugen too.

New Buggy Soon - J-Dub - 02-24-2008

yeah...I grease the piss outta everything Lol. I opened up my LSP to a blown rear diff to see no grease at all. I was WTF NUB lol
