Computer Question - Ponch - 11-21-2007

Ok, we have this computer;
http://www.amazon.com/Presario-SR5152NX-Desktop-PRocessor-Premium/dp/B000RNG3RE]Amazon.com: Compaq Presario SR5152NX Desktop PC (AMD Athlon 64 PRocessor 4000+, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium): Computers & PC Hardware

The processor speed is 2.1 ghz, a dual core processor. I want to get Guitar hero 3, but it requires a speed of 2.8 ghz.

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock with Guitar Controller - Windows

I thought I read somewhere that the whole dual core thing doubled the speed?

If that's not the case, is there any way that I can increase the processors speed? Thanks.

I know you can over clock processors but heat is the problem after that. And even with doing that. I dont think you get much from it.

I believe I was told that the whole dual core thing works as a team. Running different programs and whatever. One handles one large program while the other works on whatever else. Allowing the PC to run smoother and faster.

Mom said no. lol

It will work. 2.8ghz is the recommended. Minumum is like 1.8ghz to play. 2 gig of ram is plenty.
