Digital servos? - hansarvin - 09-29-2007 This is probably a stupid question but, do most digital servos have that loud hum sound? I've heard they do but I'm not for sure and thought I'd ask. O and they're the ACE 1313s. Digital servos? - motoxer4life - 09-29-2007 yes mine do. i have a 1015 and 1313 and they do hum but i hear its not that good when they do but mine lasted a few gallons perfect so far. Digital servos? - hansarvin - 09-29-2007 Thanks I was just making sure. That 1313 is a beast and fast too!!! But they're a PITA to install. Digital servos? - allan42r - 09-29-2007 this is caused by the servo trying to center but has a slight amount of pressure on it. like if the throttle spring is pushing on the servo arm. go back and work on your linkages and the humming will go away. easy way to tell is to turn on your radio and move the wheel or trigger to locate wich servo is making the noise and then slowly move it back and forth to see what causing it, springs or rubber bands pushing or pulling the servo away from center.. Digital servos? - allan42r - 09-29-2007 setting the center and the endpoints on a digital servo will keep it from overheating and burning up. also if you have a failsafe its a good idea to set this up at center not with full brake if you are racing. too often the driver is not the one thats turning the car on and off, and if the car gets left on with the radio off the car would go to full brake and burn up your servo. i did this at a money race down at glitchers early this year and didnt have a spare with me ended up not running. Digital servos? - hansarvin - 09-29-2007 Thanks Al, It might be that I have a small hair rubberband around the carb I'll take that off and see if it helps Digital servos? - allan42r - 09-29-2007 no you get an f. go back and reread Digital servos? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 09-29-2007 lmao DH read his post, ur center positions are set wrong Digital servos? - hansarvin - 09-29-2007 ah ok guess that's what I get for speed reading. I found what was catching on the throttle/brake and fixed that but now it doing it on the steering. So I'm going to trim the radio tray so the screw isn't catching, and if that doesn't fix it I'm going to the track in an hour so I should be able to get some help. Digital servos? - allan42r - 09-29-2007 go back and start over. center your radio first and thenplace the servo arms, centered, on the servos and then adjust the linkages. and then. THATS ALL and then.lol Digital servos? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 09-29-2007 must be a mugen thing....lol Digital servos? - allan42r - 09-29-2007 dude wheres my car? Digital servos? - hansarvin - 09-29-2007 That's what I did Al but the steering servo is still doing it. I'm pretty sure the screw that hold the linkage to the horn is catching on radio tray. but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure the screw that hold the linkage to the horn is catching on radio tray. but I'm not sure. with wheels on or off the ground??? if the wheels are on the ground and nothig is castching thats normal. put the buggy on something so that the wheels are off the ground, then turn the wheels all the way to the left and right, if they hum when turned all the way to one side then decrease the amount of travel untill it doesnt hum. this will ensure your servos last long Digital servos? - blktransam - 09-29-2007 yeah I run the 1015 for steering no prbs with it I have a 1313 for a spare Digital servos? - chickenfarmer3 - 09-29-2007 that screw should be far away form the tray...no need to dremel it. Digital servos? - allan42r - 09-30-2007 dont know what screw you are talking about and set your steering endpoint with the wheels on the ground Digital servos? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 09-30-2007 hes talking about the screw that holds the link to the servo horn Digital servos? - allan42r - 09-30-2007 ? on the throttle. what servo arm are you using? im using a dynamite alum. horn on both servos works great. take a look at the directions or show us a pic. ill be at the track next sunday id be happy to look at what ya got. Digital servos? - hansarvin - 09-30-2007 I got it all figured out, and Mike was right that was the screw that was catching but I just put it on the other side for the race. Also Al thanks for the offer but unless your gunna be down at RCR next Sunday I'm not sure you could help lol. On throttle it was because the brake pads didn't have enough play, after I adjusted them it was fine.
