GrP grips and cubics - pwnzor - 03-07-2007

I was wondering how these will work for outdoor LH? the cubics look good for a bluegroove surface(maybe good indoors), the grips look good for semi-loose / loamy track, they look similar to bowties, Has anyone used these personally? Im not looking for biased opinions on tires, I'm looking for responses from people that have used them hands on, or know people that have, thx guys Wink

I've seen the cubics used indoor at Leisure and they seem to hook pretty good. I don't know the benefits of them over the proven boas and switches but they weren't sliding all over the place or anything.

thx for the info Tex..........I have heard they are dialed on most hardpack surfaces but I personally do not know myself, The grips are suppose to be good tire as well, they look more suited for outdoor applications Wink

Cubics are good for indoor.

if they are good for bluegroove, they should be decent on damp track as well

Jesus trevor just buy some already! LMAO!!!! You know you want them

GrP grips and cubics - Tex - 03-19-2007

my exact thought

GrP grips and cubics - pwnzor - 03-19-2007

well, bowtie mtr are my next set, but these cubics will follow those for another option to use Wink

How about the HPI nubz?? are they any good??

GrP grips and cubics - Brian K - 03-19-2007

I ran the nubz out doors at LH until the track blued up then they didn't work so well. I ran the cubics in minnesota last weekend on a loamy wet track with a blue groove front sweeper and they worked great all over. I have a set of grips and I don't like them on any track. I got them when they first came out and they are way too firm much firmer than the cubics.
I'd buy a set of cubics, bow tie mtr's, cf mtr's, switches, and that'd be about it for outdoors.
You never know what tire is going to work so I have at least one set of every truggy tire made.

basically copies of the CF MTR's

GrP grips and cubics - Casketman - 03-19-2007

Yea they are, what else is there?

And it seems like just about anything that comes out will be a copy of something else to some point.

GrP grips and cubics - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 03-19-2007

just seems to be a trend with panther imo

GrP grips and cubics - Casketman - 03-19-2007

Rolleyes

GrP grips and cubics - HAGASAN - 03-19-2007

O boy.

I ran the Cubics last year outdoor and they work pretty good, the foam is a little firm but they do break-in or should i say break-down to were they are pretty close to perfect. They last along time too. Definitely a great tire to have in the bag along with Crimes, bowties and panthers. The new panther Gators should be an excellent choice although some people want to hate on Panther for supposedly copying from PL, Total BS man. Gators were designed with help by Aaron Pucci and Kevin Wilson, these guys have been around along time in RC racing and know what works. They could have based the gators on a PL design and changed it up to suit there needs with lots of compound choices. Besides, Panther must be doing something right if PL guys run them.

You ran those outdoor?

Because these look like they will do just as well as the bowties outdoor.

GrP grips and cubics - HAGASAN - 03-19-2007

Never ran those(bottom pic), Bowties will never be replaced or die. They been around for ever for good reason too.

GrP grips and cubics - Casketman - 03-19-2007

I know when I ran at Peoria last year. The Crimes were not getting the job done so out came the bowties and the truck was a new beast.

GrP grips and cubics - AddictedtoNITRO - 03-19-2007

seems like the bowties are the ol faithfull of tires kinda like the bfg all terrain lol

GrP grips and cubics - rocco79 - 03-19-2007

Yeah for bashing panther you sure do run the sh!t out of them ....

I think GRP tires really arent needed . Bow-ties baby
