He probably bought 2k Mugen, 3K Ofna, and 5K Kyosho and now realizes they're the same thing. lmao.

Diff fluid? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 02-12-2007

i dont know the differences I know there is some big ass chart that some dude with WAYYYY To much time on his hands made but its not that huge of a difference just buy the same brands and ull be fine

Diff fluid? - Racin' Ranger1 - 02-12-2007

ok i havent bought any yet just getting an idea on what to get.

Diff fluid? - pwnzor - 02-12-2007

mugen is what i bought........ofna is good as well Wink

Diff fluid? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 02-12-2007

I like the GS stuff, u know general SILICONES lol

Diff fluid? - FreeRideFrosty - 02-13-2007

I have used Ofna and GS with good results before.

Diff fluid? - motoxer4life - 02-13-2007

ive only used the mugen. idk any other brands but mine works fine.

Diff fluid? - Casketman - 02-13-2007

Do they all break down as fast?

I mean what do people use and why?

Myself,I have been using mugen for the diffs. I was using trinity for the shocks, but they were left over from the revo so they were to high. So right now,I have the stock 400wt shock oil until I go out and get some lighter weight shock oil like 30,35 wt.

Diff fluid? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 02-13-2007

people use certain weights cuz they are more "true" weights for example I think mugen 5k was like Xray 3K or some BS like that

Diff fluid? - Casketman - 02-13-2007

So its not a matter of how they break down, its more of a matter of if what the label says is correct?

Diff fluid? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 02-13-2007

ya and the CPS and all that crap

Diff fluid? - Casketman - 02-13-2007

Well I guess seeing most people use the mugen oils in the diffs. I might as well stay with that.

I just know that if I use the trinity shock oil,I need to go down by 5. So if its 400wt,35wt would be a close enough number to match it.

Diff fluid? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 02-13-2007

I like the AE shock oil. I mix and match diff oil i dont really care enough to go all crazy like that lol

Diff fluid? - motoxer4life - 02-13-2007

i like the losi 6 pack of shock oil. Its cool cause you can experimeant with all different weights and find the right setup.

Diff fluid? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 02-13-2007

and you cant do that with any other shock oils?

Diff fluid? - pwnzor - 02-13-2007

im using trinity shock oil as well, I just rebuilt my shocks w/ new O rings and Trinity 60f/50r and blue springs

Diff fluid? - Casketman - 02-13-2007

They break it up right in the middle. I saw those two packs and I remember thinking to myself. Where the one pack stops and the other starts is right around the number we would run in our trucks. Not very smart if you ask me.

Although when I start running the revo,it will work out fine because I will be back up to running the 40-60wt shock oil

Diff fluid? - Tex - 02-14-2007

I use(d) mugen and GS diff fluid previously, both seemed fine.

I've used trinity, AE, losi shock oils and the AE seems a bit thicker....like 40wt AE seems like 50wt Trinity consistancy

Diff fluid? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 02-14-2007

the AE weights are more "true" weights

Diff fluid? - badmojo - 02-14-2007

I use losi, ae, and trinity shock oils, all seem to be about the same, the losi just uses dye or something so you can tell the different colors. I use mugen and ofna diff fluids, even though I thought about switching to the sportwerks stuff since its like $2 a bottle cheaper. I ran 7-30-3 in my crt last year, want to change it up a little this year
