.26 Ofna Force - micro Loopie - 02-04-2007 I bought a Ofna Ultra LX off Ebay as my first Nitro, should be here in 'bout 2 weeks. It has the stock .26 Force in it, and is set up for Bump Start, will all I need to convert it to Pullstart is the Pullstarter? Or will I also need a one-way bearing? mLoopie .26 Ofna Force - squirrel - 02-04-2007 I do believe you will need a new crankshaft, one way bearing, backplate, and pullstart. You need a new crankshaft because you have to gring down a little pin on it to get the bumpstart backplate to fit. It also happens to be what turns the motor when using a pulstart. So on a bumpstart motor it's not there anymore. It's just easier and cheaper to leave it bumpstart and buy a bump box. .26 Ofna Force - micro Loopie - 02-04-2007 squirrel Wrote:I do believe you will need a new crankshaft, one way bearing, backplate, and pullstart. I thought the pullstart acts as the backplate while being a pull start? .26 Ofna Force - Ponch - 02-04-2007 Nope, there's a backplate under the pullstart. .26 Ofna Force - pwnzor - 02-04-2007 just leave it set up for bump start, pull starts are brutal man, they give you blisters and shiz .26 Ofna Force - micro Loopie - 02-04-2007 So, if you go Bump start w/ an engine, your eliminating Roto/shaft start, Pull start, and any other starter unless you get a new crankshaft, one way bearing, backplate and what ever starter? .26 Ofna Force - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 02-04-2007 yes basically .26 Ofna Force - micro Loopie - 02-04-2007 Will Pullstart, Easystart, roto/torque start all run on the same crank shaft, though? I just checked the price of a Crankshaft for the Force .26 = 79.95, ouch. That's basically the cost of a Force .26 engine.($120ish) .26 Ofna Force - AddictedtoNITRO - 02-05-2007 micro Loopie Wrote:Will Pullstart, Easystart, roto/torque start all run on the same crank shaft, though?yea they will work with the other crankshaft it bump only or everything else .26 Ofna Force - Meatwad - 02-05-2007 just buy a starter box ull thank urself later .26 Ofna Force - micro Loopie - 02-05-2007 Well theres no way I'm paying $120 for stuff to convert it to Pull Start. $120 for a Box, battery, charger for battery........Starter box's just seem so inconvenient. But, apparently for later on when I sell the buggy and buy a CRT/.28 the CRT's engine mount will only accept a bumpstart? .26 Ofna Force - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 02-05-2007 u can use a bump start or a pull start on that mount .26 Ofna Force - micro Loopie - 02-05-2007 Czech-it-Out Graphics Wrote:u can use a bump start or a pull start on that mount On the Ultra's mount? Or the CRT Pro's mount? .26 Ofna Force - FreeRideFrosty - 02-05-2007 micro Loopie Wrote:Well theres no way I'm paying $120 for stuff to convert it to Pull Start. Some mounts are like that.... though I am not sure about those exact ones. I have one set for my LSP for bump start motors and then another for pullstart or rotostart. .26 Ofna Force - micro Loopie - 02-06-2007 Thanks for the help guys! +rep everyone I shall start another thread! |
