I just got done watching my old traxxas setup and tuning video that came w/ my rustler and i was just wondering does anyone actually take the air filter off and the glowplug out for storage? It said to take em off and spray 1 sec of WD-40 into both openings. Also how often do you guys clean your air filters and I think someone told me they use nitro fuel instead of air filter oil should I do that? Thanks.

Just clean it when it gets dirty, or about every half gallon. I don't use after run unless its going to be sitting for a while.

I can comment on the air filter part....

The oil is not for cleaning. Use soap and water and wash the hell out of it and let it COMPLETELY dry. Then, use filter oil to oil it back up. The oil is sticky and grabs little dust and dirt particles instead of letting them into your motor.

depends on what filter oil u use, mineral spirits works the best for the AE filter oil, i use the honda kit, oil cleaner and grease

do not use after run oil, more headaches than anything else UNLESS u are putting the motor away for a very long period of time. Open ur motor after all the fuel is burned off it is dripping oil granted u run a good fuel

Engine help - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-24-2007

clean it? why would u need to clean it?

Engine help - motoxer4life - 01-24-2007

because its an air filter and it attracts dirt...

Engine help - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-24-2007

thought u meant the inside of the motor...
