.21 head gaskets - Jack - 07-14-2004 I used to have an XTM 24.7, now I'm running a Mach .26. Both motors had two headgaskets, has anyone tried running just the thinner gasket with 20%? That should bring up compression a bit, maybe run a cooler plug so it don't detonate? .21 head gaskets - Tex - 07-21-2004 why would it detonate? .21 head gaskets - Mr. Tune - 07-21-2004 I haven't, but if it works out for you, I definetaley try it out. How much more compression is there? I remember you telling me something about the pullstart being alot harder to pull at this past sunday. .21 head gaskets - Tex - 07-21-2004 I've never met or talked to you before bub.... hope to see you soon though .21 head gaskets - Mr. Tune - 07-21-2004 Tex Wrote:I've never met or talked to you before bub.... hope to see you soon thoughSorry, I should have used the quote button. I was replying to jack's post. .21 head gaskets - Jack - 07-21-2004 Tex Wrote:why would it detonate? I don't know, I figured higher compression=more prone to detonation. I ran the motor last sat. and it seemed to run fine on the thinner gasket. It was a lot harder to pull the pullstart, though- it felt like I was about to rip the pullstart off the backplate. Don't know if it actually increased power, the mill is in a different car. |
