Remote wire can be run with the power cable. Try to keep signal cables away.

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-24-2007

Ok. I got one signal cable that runs along the power wire for about 2.5-3 feet...Is that going to kill the sound?

Official Car Audio Thread - FreeRideFrosty - 10-24-2007

maybe maybe not. If they aren't shielded well enough then it will be enough to cause distortion. If they are shielded well then it will be fine....

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-24-2007

Can I shield them?==alot of electrical tape...

Official Car Audio Thread - J-Dub - 10-24-2007

You could always just get a new HU and run some RCA cables, the right way. Smile

also it will probably mess it up, because amperage is electromagnetic interference. You're probably going to get some distortion if you run that by a wire thats carrying signal.

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-25-2007

Ok, so I figured out how the back seat comes out. My parents always thought it had to be unscrewed to get it out. Well it turns out it's on wheels actually Rolleyes so I got to take that out finally. Omg we have alot of room back there.

Got the switch working right. Thanks again John.

Didn't get the amp tonight, pissed.

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-27-2007

I WANT MORE

Got it hooked up, DAMN this car rattles...haha. House rattles when it's in the driveway too!!!!! I'll get pics tomorrow. Clean install too.

Smile

Official Car Audio Thread - Traxxas_Junkee - 10-27-2007

Get a vid too!!

lol jk

Official Car Audio Thread - FreeRideFrosty - 10-28-2007

If the car rattles you did it wrong. Dynamat it.

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-28-2007

Didn't do it "wrong", just didn't make it right yet. Mainly just the rear hatch, for obvious reasons. That and the panels right around it too.

When are you in town? Or was that this weekend and I missed my tuning session?

Official Car Audio Thread - FreeRideFrosty - 10-28-2007

I was going to be in town this weekend but it didn't happen. There is an outside chance I will be in tomorrow or Tuesday, but not likely. If I am heading in I will let you know though. And I'm just giving you crap. Chances are with most cars that you will have problems with rattling. If you can, definitely dynamat it at some point. It REALLY helps. I got lucky with my car.

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-28-2007

Yeah. IDK if I'll bother as this will only be in this car until I get my own, probably a little less than a year from now hopefully.

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 11-01-2007

Ok, got my amp tuned by my uncle who is car-audio wise and DAMN was I off... Sounds great minus the rattling tailgate. I'm running to bestbuy now to get the sound deadening stuff to put up in there.

Official Car Audio Thread - FreeRideFrosty - 11-01-2007

Haha.... I knew it would be off. Dynamat is expensive. Use it wisely and add slowly until the rattle goes away. You also don't need to completely cover the metal on the inside. Sometimes patches of it will be enough. Does that make sense??

Official Car Audio Thread - destroy_my_revo_15 - 11-01-2007

so i guess i need to buy one of these amps now too huh? lmao.

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 11-01-2007

Yeah....You're making sense dan, no worries. Gotcha.

And yeah John, you gotta at least get the 650 amp..

Official Car Audio Thread - destroy_my_revo_15 - 11-01-2007

HAHa thanks man, i JUST found that before i checked this thread. lol

Official Car Audio Thread - FreeRideFrosty - 11-04-2007

That was going to be my call. I would be careful with power on them. A lot of the older subs used a lot less power to get just as loud as some of todays. You can see the max watts at 200-300 depending on the box. With those I would absolutely not exceed it.
