One thing is if you go into bad neighborhoods turn your amp off and dont use anything fancy like a moniter, subs. I got a switch hooked up to my radio for the amp so I can turn the amp on and off at the flip of a switch.

Official Car Audio Thread - Tex - 10-19-2007

It's not only bad/poor neighborhoods, kids with no money want money and will do what it takes to get it...

Back when I was "bad" we used to hear people bumping their music, follow them so we knew where they lived and come back for the chit that night.

Official Car Audio Thread - FreeRideFrosty - 10-19-2007

Yeah.... I would say neighborhood doesn't have much to do with it unless you are going through a few select portions in the city (in which case I think Ryan would be scared anyway haha). It can get stolen from anywhere. Think about it this way.... some of the rich don't get rich spending money on everything......

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-20-2007

Ok. Haven't updated in a few days.

First-We found a grommet not doing anything in the firewall. Cut an x in it, and it pushed right thru by the driver's feet. Perfect.
Second-We ran it under the edge of the interior, can't see it anywhere.
Third-Today, we ran the high input on the L door speaker to the rear. Ran out of wire. 20 feet just for that! So I have to pick some more up now.

Yeah. Coming along pretty well. Tomorrow the signal wire goes in.

gay

Official Car Audio Thread - Michowski - 10-21-2007

um that was really really gay. Couldnt even hear the music. I hate that crap. All bass and no singing. Stupidest crap IMO. When the singing is louder then that bass and it all sounds clear without cutting out or blowing speakers then il be impressed.

Wonder what kind of setup you will have ponch?

Official Car Audio Thread - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 10-22-2007

a gay one that rattles his muffler off lmao

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-23-2007

Coulda seen this coming. Went in for the amp. Asked if he would still hold his $225 price. Welp, one phone call later and it's $300.

Ugh so yeah I'ma stomach it and pay... Got 1/2 down right now, should be here tomorrow or thursday. At least $300 is out the door.

Official Car Audio Thread - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 10-23-2007

u get electricuted yet?

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-23-2007

No.... Smile

Official Car Audio Thread - Michowski - 10-23-2007

your paying 200 bucks for that amp? Give me 275 and il have one at your doorstep thursday morning. What a rip off

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-23-2007

Whole thing that kinda sealed the deal was the help with setup and garanteed warranty...

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-23-2007

Ok so-

I want to run a rocker switch on my remote wire the switch resembles the ones on starter boxes, cept it has 3 tabs. One power, one accesory, and one ground.

It lights up too.

How do I wire this up so that it lights up, even if that's just when it's on? Right now I just did power=12v off the radio and ground to the amp where it will be connected. I assume if I throw the switch, the power will go thru the switch and out the ground tab. Am I wrong?

Official Car Audio Thread - destroy_my_revo_15 - 10-23-2007

if i remember right the ground goes to ground [duh] the power comes off the lead from the radio and the accy would go to the amp. its a little easier with lights lol.

Official Car Audio Thread - destroy_my_revo_15 - 10-23-2007

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-23-2007

Don't worry about it...Just checking lol.

But hey at least yours screws on/off, mine you gotta find like pressure points and shit and pop everything out lol

Official Car Audio Thread - destroy_my_revo_15 - 10-23-2007

yeah. thats why i went with it. haha.

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-23-2007

What wires are not supposed to be put near each other because of interference?

Official Car Audio Thread - Michowski - 10-23-2007

whats the switch gonna do

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-23-2007

Make it so that if my parents don't want the sub on, they can flip the switch and it'll be off.

Official Car Audio Thread - Michowski - 10-23-2007

just go to walmart, spend 3 bucks and get an on off switch. Take the blue wire that goes from your radio to the amp, put the one end off the radio onto the switch. Then put the other end on the 2nd terminal on the switch to the amp. Done. Flip it on and you have subs, flip it off and no subs.

Ponch Wrote:What wires are not supposed to be put near each other because of interference?

basically run the power away from everything else.

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-24-2007

mmmkay Smile

Even remote? that's going to suck if you say yes, but I don't see a reason that it would mess up the remote wire.
