I doubt the cable can seal the door better then weather stripping

Official Car Audio Thread - destroy_my_revo_15 - 10-17-2007

dude dont rush it. your not in a hurry anyways cause you dont have an amp. so take your time and run it through the firewall. thats the main reason why i wired my chit before i even had the stuff.

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-17-2007

Under it meaning that the weatherstripping would go back after...

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-17-2007

I honestly can't see a way thru the firewall. There's so much crap on BOTH sides of the firewall. idk I'll keep looking but...

Official Car Audio Thread - destroy_my_revo_15 - 10-17-2007

i found it easier to look inside the cab of fords.

Official Car Audio Thread - Racin' Ranger1 - 10-17-2007

just run it through on of the gaskets that seals some wires through the fire wall. then just seal it back up

Official Car Audio Thread - Racin' Ranger1 - 10-17-2007

ill try to go find a place on mine.

Official Car Audio Thread - destroy_my_revo_15 - 10-17-2007

you wont even have to seal it. cause it will be super tight with that 4 guage running through it....

Official Car Audio Thread - Racin' Ranger1 - 10-17-2007

i need to get my stuff hooked up in my truck. i got the audio cables ran but thats the extent of it.

edit and rustys and pedes are fun to rip around with

Official Car Audio Thread - destroy_my_revo_15 - 10-17-2007

dang i guess i got lucky. it took me like a half hour to wire my whole setup...

Official Car Audio Thread - Racin' Ranger1 - 10-17-2007

i just dont have any of the rest(power wire)

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-17-2007

That's cuz from front end to back of cab is what 8 feet?

Oh and yeah...I'm just gonna run it this way. You guys will see. Just gotta drill a hole real quick.

Official Car Audio Thread - destroy_my_revo_15 - 10-17-2007

idk how much power wire did you get? i almost used the 15' that i got in my kit...

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-17-2007

Think it's 20".

Oh and I quit for the night. lol. Drill died.

Official Car Audio Thread - destroy_my_revo_15 - 10-17-2007

are you sure. is that gonna make it from the battery to inside the cab? lol

Official Car Audio Thread - FreeRideFrosty - 10-18-2007

Ponch..... SLOW DOWN. DO NOT RUN THE CABLE LIKE THAT. Not only does it look terrible but it can be dangerous. You do not want the door to rub through the wire. Look under the car even. There are going to be ports somewhere that you can get a cable through. I ran mine in wiring conduit and int a grommet under the back seat. There are ports somewhere that are meant to equalize pressure between the cab and the outside..... mainly when opening and closing doors. Take your time, run it CLEAN. Look into Scion forums. I'm sure someone has a tutorial on how to run a cable. That is how I started running mine and then went from there.....

Official Car Audio Thread - Michowski - 10-18-2007

I bet if you brought your shit to me I can route and wire it all in 30 minutes and have it all hidden also.

Not in the scion. I wish it was. There's shit all over on how to do that. The best I've found for this is someone doing it in a newer f150 and it turns out that it is waay different from the expedition.

Official Car Audio Thread - Tex - 10-18-2007

Ponch, whatever you do, don't rush.
I know you want to hear how it sounds and all, but do it right the first time. If you rush it'll look like shit, probably have probs in the future with sound and then you'll still end up doing it the right way at some point in time.

Official Car Audio Thread - FreeRideFrosty - 10-18-2007

Couldn't have said it better.

Official Car Audio Thread - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 10-18-2007

please video tape the job, if u get electricuted i dont wanna miss it!

Official Car Audio Thread - UE-Maxx - 10-18-2007

lol

Doesn't look like I will be picking up a touchsreen. Faceplate doesn't come off and don't want to take the risk of getting it stolen.

Official Car Audio Thread - Michowski - 10-18-2007

It doesnt matter what kind of radio you got. If its not a factory radio then somebody is gonna want it. Doesnt matter if its a peice of crap aftermarket or not. If they can get it out of your car in 2 minutes or less then they will take it. Turn around and sell it for 20 bucks and thats the end of it.

Official Car Audio Thread - Ponch - 10-18-2007

Scary, but i think after i get the amp, i want another revo so i got something to bash...

But I can atleast take the face off of just a regular type receiver and I'd rather have a 200 dollar radio stolen rather than a 400.
