Sorry for being a post whore im new to racing and im just trying to learn alot of stuff about it rwal quick before i get my 8ight. Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - Ponch - 11-29-2006 how about exhaust pipes for the os engines Os 2050, JP-1, JP-3 and how about starter boxes for them. For an 8ight, the most recommended is the Mugen starter box any recommendations? and i was just wondering like i have a rotostart for my savage x. say i had a rotostart on the os engine would i still be able to use a starter box or do i have to have a special setup for a starter box? You could, but it'd potentially reduce the speed of your engine. With a bump box you have the least resistance in the engine therefore the most power. Like can i put a pullstart on the engine and use that when i feel like it and use the starter box whenever i feel like it? Theoretically yes. Answers in the post... Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 11-29-2006 pipe nothing but 2050 or 2060 and ponch not theoretically actually Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - motoxer4life - 11-29-2006 alright but if i do get a starter box and not get a pullstart on the engine what am i supposed to put in the hole where the pull start would originally go? Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - motoxer4life - 11-29-2006 and where would you recommend me buying all these parts from online? Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 11-29-2006 buy the non p/s version of the motor, i dont think a pull start version is even offered. bmainhobbies.com or amainhobbies.com Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - Traxxas_Junkee - 11-29-2006 There is a pull start version for the RG. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0095p?FVPROFIL=++&FVSEARCH=os+21&FVPROFIL=++ Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - motoxer4life - 11-29-2006 see i dont know what does the "p" after the name mean pull start? And if i dont get one w/ a pullstart can i use a starter box for a litle bit then put in a pull start or do i have to just buy one w/o the pullstart? Is there a special name for an engine that works well w/ a starter box like o.s. .21... sb or somethin? Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 11-29-2006 dont get a pullstart motor u will regret, p means pilot shaft Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 11-29-2006 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMUM3&P=ML http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMUM3&P=ML pullstart http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMUM4&P=ML and like i said the RG is DISCONTINUED Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - motoxer4life - 11-29-2006 so i want a pilot shaft? Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 11-29-2006 thats how almost every single motor comes, the alternative would be a threaded shaft which was an old GT thing Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - motoxer4life - 11-29-2006 i no that but what type do i want to get for a startrer box? pilot shaft or no? Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - Ponch - 11-29-2006 That has nothing to do with it. Starter boxes, just about any car can be lined up on any box. I suggested the mugen because the 8ight has a semi-small flywheel opening. The mugen box is supposed to have a slightly smaller wheel that works great with the 8ight. Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - motoxer4life - 11-29-2006 alright thanks guys Engine question: Novarossi or O.S. - FreeRideFrosty - 11-29-2006 Get the VG. Make sure it is non pullstart, and get a starter box. That will be the best overall setup IMO. I had pullstart motors and non pullstart motors..... non pullstart is just far more reliable. (Less parts to break in/on the actual motor.) |
