Engine for a truggy? - Thirdgen89GTA - 10-02-2006 Engine for a Truggy? I don't race, I mostly bash or hit the track on an open practice night. I'm looking for a basher engine around $150 to $200. Currently the truggies got a Picco .27 in it, with a tuned pipe (don't know what pipe, its unlabled and I don't know what it is) And while its decently quick down low with great throttle response it kind of falls flat on the top end. I do have a JP2 pipe for another project on the way so I might try that on there and see if that works for me. But some recomendations would be good. Engine for a truggy? - UE-Maxx - 10-02-2006 cemeb4dk has the radical .21 for sale witch also comes with a pipe and some spare plugs. http://www.chitownrc.com/showthread.php?t=4798 Engine for a truggy? - rocco79 - 10-02-2006 The radical wit pipe is supossed to be a powerhouse! Other possible canidates Mach .26 xtm 24/7 pro sh prospec .28 6 port Engine for a truggy? - Thirdgen89GTA - 10-02-2006 I'll have to consider it, but I wasn't planning on buying now. I just dropped $375 on the CRT, another $50 for a JP2 pipe, and about $100 on other stuff this month for other RC projects that i have yet to post about. Perhaps next month if he still has it. Right now i really can't afford to buy, I need to figure out whats going on as far as what I really want to upgrade. The CRT needs a few upgrades first, like the CNC Alu. Chassis braces, and the Z - brace to stiffen it up. I bent the rear center ds on a hard landing. Still plenty workable but I don't want to bend the chassis (thankfully its still flat). Engine for a truggy? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 10-02-2006 i strongly suggest picking up that rad, u will never have a faster engine for the money Engine for a truggy? - Thirdgen89GTA - 10-02-2006 I don't doubt it, however right now i dropped too much money this month. I do not have enough money to do it. If its still available next month I will contact him. But right now i'm not going to beg him to hold it till i get the money. Engine for a truggy? - rocco79 - 10-02-2006 Czech it out was just letting you know its a quality engine and pipe... Hopefully you get all the stuff you want ! Engine for a truggy? - Thirdgen89GTA - 10-03-2006 Well, its possible, I just need to slow down a bit when it comes to spending. I still have chassis upgrades to do to the CRT. It was an RTR, so it has the plastic braces which do squat cause they bend so easy. I think I'm going to order the Dace braces for now. Engine for a truggy? - cemeb4dk - 10-03-2006 third gen. I will sell it to you for 150 plus your jp2 pipe. I can get some pics for you if needed its mounted in my crt right now, but I can get some tonight for you. If your seriously interested. All you will need is a clutch bell and fuel. Engine for a truggy? - cemeb4dk - 10-03-2006 Also I am getting the the new BCE chassis in. SO I will have a BCE version 1 chassis with a z brace available. I will work out an awesome deal for you. Engine for a truggy? - Thirdgen89GTA - 10-03-2006 I just bought the JP2 pipe and its going on my rally car conversion so I can't let that go. I think its a good deal, i just can't spend any more this month on RC stuff. The BCE chassis sounds VERY nice though. Once again $$$ is an issue. Engine for a truggy? - cemeb4dk - 10-03-2006 oh, OK was trying to save yousome money. Hit me up when you get some xtra $$. I can take credit cards via paypal also...LOL Engine for a truggy? - Thirdgen89GTA - 10-03-2006 I cut all my CC's up about 1 year ago. I live on cash and savings now. No credit left. I will be debt free by Feb of 2009, and that includes about $22,000 in school loan debt as well. Engine for a truggy? - Sh1nn3r - 10-03-2006 I would get a sportswerks 26 engine it' a monster and only for 100 bucks you cant go wrong. Engine for a truggy? - Thirdgen89GTA - 10-03-2006 Well, keep in mind it has a Picco .27 now. So its certainly not slow, though its not fast either. Bascially I'm looking for engines with more Umph than the picco, but without spending a lot upwards. I can get a Axial .28 spec 1 for cheap, and I still have 2 Team Infinity .27 3ports just laying around. I will probably run the truck as it for now, but later use it to break in the 3ports. Engine for a truggy? - Biodragen - 10-03-2006 Have you considered the STS 28. I ran the Picco 27 and 28. I gave the STS a try and I am really please with it especialy for the money. I got the motor(PS), Pipe and header shipped for $175 I dunno of you use a bump box but the BP is $8. Bearings and parts are very reasonable for replacement. I have 4 gallons on mine and still running strong. I had it apart twice and it looks mint. The Dyno report is pretty good. I prefer this motor over the Picco---Picco's are finicky for a tune but this one holds it Check it out at Racernine.com Engine for a truggy? - Ponch - 10-03-2006 Biodragen Wrote:Have you considered the STS 28. +1 on that STS .28, sick power. I got mine for $110 shipped, bump start. Engine for a truggy? - Thirdgen89GTA - 10-03-2006 So far I've had no problems with the picco as far as holding its tune. Started right up when I got it and ran great while I finished up the tank of 20% that was in it. Set it back to defaults for the next tank cause that was 30% and I retuned from there. Its quick enough, not alotta top end but the throttle response is great. I may even try one of the Team Infinity 3ports that i Have laying around, they are .27's so should go pretty good. |
