Aluminum clutch shoes need maintenance man! did you ever de-burr that thing or did you just "set it and forget it"?

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 11-14-2006

stiffer springs would give u a higher stall clutch. I dont think you had a slippage problem, u had a maintinence problem, no doubt that clutch was hanging up and prolly making ur engine run hot and lean bog

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Thirdgen89GTA - 11-14-2006

Well, i replaced them now, but there isn't anything left of the shoe material really. The groove where the spring sits is gone.

I had originally deburred them when I had them off about 1 month ago, I really only run the car about 4 times a month. See's maybe 10 to 14 tanks a month at most. I really don't run it all that much.

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Thirdgen89GTA - 11-17-2006

Man, its friday already. So, who's showing up besides the regulars.

Sadly, only the buggy will live this week. I am holding off on ordering the CNC parts for the CRT, and the new LSPR is on the back burner for now while I put together the things it needs. Str. and thr/brk servo's, spektrum rx. For the engine I need to pickup a clutch, I have everything else.

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Thirdgen89GTA - 11-22-2006

Man, that curb got me again! Snapped the shock shaft in two, yet somehow the shock shaft is still straight as an arrow. Guess It just goes with the cold weather, the metal is less flexible.

Oh well.....easy fix! Wanted to rebuild the shocks anyways.

If any of you guys are still bashing, I still have the backflip ramp that Chris and Bill made a while back for one of the Berwyn bashes. Because of work I don't have much time to play with it so if any of you guys have room for it and want it it is yours. Unless Bill or Chris want it back.

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Thirdgen89GTA - 11-23-2006

How big is it? I don't have a pickup, or a truck, just lil' ol Kia Sephia. If its not too big and no-one else needs I might be game to pick it up if I can find a way to fit it in the kia.

Good luck lol. It fits nicely in the back of my Explorer I just can't pack anything else in it!

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Thirdgen89GTA - 11-23-2006

Well then, i guess we'll have to hope someone else has a slightly smaller ramp.

I would say my car is a tad too small for that ramp then.

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - squirrel - 11-24-2006

Just a little bit. I'm gonna see if Bill or Chris want it back and if they don't I'll put it up in the for sale section as a give away.

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Savyboy - 11-27-2006

Squirrel,
If it is still up for grabs we will take it. But I have to wait to pick it up.
The guy that is willing to pick it up said he will be availible 2 Saturdays from today.Because of his work schedule.
He is one of our regulars at my bash.
If all is good i will need a address to come pick it up.
Shoot me a PM
He has a big Chevy pick up truck .So it will fit.
LMK.
Savyboy

Allen, this really belongs in the classifieds forum.

But as for these batteries? great deal for me, I'm running them in my DX3 and they work great for about 3 or 4 days straight without a charge ( I generally only run my stuff on Sundays and can go 3 to 4 weeks without a recharge, hence 3 to 4 days straight usage).

Its a good deal for transmitter batteries or even just for the odd AA remotes around the house. I'm using the extra 2 to power my digicam and it rarely runs out of power now.

To charge mine I just take the battery tray out of the bottom and charge them at 1amp on my NiMH peak charger.

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Thirdgen89GTA - 12-01-2006

Well, looking at the weather I can say I probably won't make it to the bash this sunday. Its rather cold, expected high of 22*, and a low of 12*, not including windchill.

I think i'll stay nice'n warm sunday.

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Tex - 12-01-2006

what? miss the first snow bash??? how dare youWink

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Thirdgen89GTA - 12-02-2006

Hehe, I like bashing as much as anyone else. And the snow really doesn't bother me, its just the cold. Don't feel like sitting out there for hours with numb fingers, and a hard starting engine.

It looks like the predictions warmed up a slight bit, but now its scheduled to snow again.

Besides, i apparently have work! Yay, extra X-mas money from my 2nd job. Should be a few hours worth.

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Savyboy - 12-05-2006

Tex most of us are not waterproofed yet!
I know I'm not!

Anyways.

Yeah, this last weekend was a bummer. Snow and cold!Sad
Not good bash weather.

Maybe we could do a Thursday night trip out to Lesuire Hours Racetrack?
It is only $8.00 to practice on the track from 5:30pm till 10:30 pm

On Sunday when the weather is too bad out.
I suggest meeting at my usual stop after the bash where I go to eat.Smile
Thirdgen89GTA can vouch for the good food! He has been going the past 4 weeeks after the bash with us.
It's the Rose Garden Cafe on the corner of (Rte72 / Higgins Rd.) + Arlington Heights Road. Say around 1:00pm till?
They have excellent food and good prices + great people who own the Cafe!
They know me I eat there at least 2-3 times a week.
It's right behind the Shell gas station on that corner.
If you plan on showing up .
PM me so I will know you are interested.
I will check this each Saturday to see who is going.
Savyboy

OK what all have I missed? I've been away for a while. My Uncle had a stroke and its been a rough few weeks with a couple weeks in Michigan in the middle of nowhere with no internet, no cell phone.. nothing. I did by a new toy over the weekend before I left.. a Losi Micro T. pretty cooland rediculiously tiny. I just had to keep it away form my uncles Rottweiler Brutus as he could probaly swallow it whole.

Ohh yeah and I got started on a new project its 1/8 scale and its Very light weight that is fully loaded except linkages and fuel line.

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Thirdgen89GTA - 12-07-2006

Well, you missed out one when Tom a new guy brought a big ramp to the bash. Smile

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/thirdgen89gta/big_jump2.wmv

And we are preparing for Monster Jam right now too.

How did you get that buggy so light? The Jammin is 8lbs and I can't really conceive of how to drop over 2lbs off its weight, thats alot!

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - SixVi6-Camaro - 12-07-2006

A little bit of everything. I have a 750 mah RX pack no front driveline (rear drive only), removed and cut and lightened lots of stuff on it. I will probably end up 5 lbs 14oz or so after I get the fuel lines linkages and whatever rear wheels I run. It will be single speed but gearing will depend on what rear wheels I run. Wider is better on the rear. I might convert the front to Landmax 2 front end to narrow it and lighten it more and narrow the front wheels. There is no concern for all out handling just light weight and go straight even on not so perfect surfaces.. thats all I'm looking for.

From my other striaght line beater cars experience It will take a lot of test and tune to get it setup to work well hook and go.

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Thirdgen89GTA - 12-07-2006

Sounds like fun. Jeff finally finished his 8th scale BL LiPo conversion and its wicked fast. But the chassis he used doesn't quite standup to punishment very well. So he's looking into creating stronger chassis braces.

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - roc_sky - 12-08-2006

anyone wanna go this Sunday?
Low: 30° High: 41°

New Busse Bash thread (old one too long)! - Thirdgen89GTA - 12-09-2006

I'll be there.
