What are you guys using to thin out faskolor for airbrushing? I'm not really sure what to use and I want to use something good so I dont F***up my new body.

Ive never had to thin faskolor, but for super fine lines i do it. mix windex and water 50/50 then mix that about 40 paint / 60 windex water mix

Faskolor - Jeepguy - 08-18-2006

Windex really?? I have never herd of using that before

Faskolor - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 08-18-2006

the paints are water based so alcohol will dry them out on the tip as will most other reducers

Faskolor - Obsessive R/C - 08-18-2006

The alcohol in Windex has a higher surface tension than straight water...this helps it to not bead up on non-porous surfaces (like Lexan) when it is sprayed.

I used a little Windex also. Just a little goes a long way...and it makes your yellows turn green....

Faskolor - Obsessive R/C - 08-18-2006

Did they dry green? If it alters the color you can use clear Windex or Createx makes actual waterbased reducer that is also clear.

It was a minor change, but you could see it....I wasn't aware of clear windex, we had the blue stuff in the house, so I used it.

Related question here, so this isn't really getting off-topic I hope, but has anyone tried ammonia to think out liquid mask film that has started to get goopy in the bottle? I heard a drop or two will rejuvinate it somewhat.

Faskolor - Jeepguy - 08-18-2006

ALright thanks, i'm going to try it today and ill post the pics later.:joy:

Faskolor - Jeepguy - 08-23-2006

thats the one thing i hate about faskolor is there are no good reds all of them too light or to pink etc lol looks good from what i can tell tho

Faskolor - Jeepguy - 08-23-2006

Thanks, I screwed up and backed the Faspearl Red too late in the paint process but its not too bad, in the sun it looks darker and its got the whole pearl effect.

The Auto Air reducer works good for other Auto Air paints....I tried it once with Faskolor, and it seemed to make it worse. Just based on that, I would stick to same brand mixing...

I've personally never had any trouble with Createx products mixing with Faskolor. I would agree that staying within the same brand is the safest route although water based products are generally not as sensitive as solvent based products when it comes to mixing brands.
