Lacking bottom end...clutch bell turning blue from heat rmv 3 speed automatic? - joey - 04-25-2006 traxxas thrasher Wrote:I dont think i have ever experienced clutch slippage.. how do you know if your clutch slipped? because the clutch shoes are only egaged at a certain rpm ( the springs giving way to allow the shoes to contact the inside of the clutch bell) so when you start to excellerate or decellerate the is a period of time right after the clutch shoes are engaged or before they disengage when there is not fullforce being exerted by the shoes to the inside of the clutchbell, there is were you will recieve some slipage with is why you have to debur your shoes every once in a while, the rmv clutches are designed so that when it is engaged it maintains the full pressure on the inside of the clutch bell, hence no slipping, unless im confused? rmv 3 speed automatic? - kevinF - 04-25-2006 ok, thanks joe rmv 3 speed automatic? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 04-25-2006 give it a try, ive wanted to but i didnt wanna spend the 100$ rmv 3 speed automatic? - joey - 04-26-2006 i might get one and the springs too rmv 3 speed automatic? - Tex - 04-26-2006 you only have to de-burr AL shoes, carbons don't burr which it looks like carbon on this $100 clutch rmv 3 speed automatic? - joey - 04-26-2006 deburring wasnt the issue, it was clutch slipgage and wasted enegy that could be put to the wheel instead of wasted when the clutch slips, and consitancy, since the clutch maintains full pressure and doesnt vary, the reviews have said that it gives the clutch a very consitant feeling as well as being very durable, you can instead of using springs to change your engagement rpm you could try using different sized clutch bells (smaller for ealier larger for later) just sounds pretty cool, if it works like the reviews say it does and you are semi serious about racing it might be worth it but for just club racing probably not, thats my take on it. rmv 3 speed automatic? - Obsessive R/C - 04-26-2006 The one I have came with Carbon and either Rulon or Teflon (white) shoes. |
