Anyone running these tires yet. I just got a set, they are about 1/4 narrower than normal bow ties. The only problem I am having is foam selection. I have the re foams in 1 tire so far and it makes the side wall protrude to much and flattens the carcass of the tire. The stock foam still extends the side wall too much for my likeing and this foam makes the tire more round.

Just wondering what foams anyone has had sucees with.

P.S. Please dont tell me to trim the foams, I understand that part.....

George-
Im thinking of mounting the beads to the inner part of the wheel... This seems to narrow and round the carcass nicely.

Hope this helps!

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!

New Bow tie MT - Tex - 04-07-2006

I heard nothing but good things about these new BT MT's. People seem to have had great success at Silver State with them. Are they pretty light as well George?

New Bow tie MT - cemeb4dk - 04-07-2006

they are light and about 1/4th smaller than normal bow ties.

The fix for them is to glue them on the inside of the wheel beads.

New Bow tie MT - Tex - 04-07-2006

won't dirt pack in the outter bead then? talk about unbalanced!

New Bow tie MT - cemeb4dk - 04-07-2006

Tex, you glue the sidewall to the edge of the wheel bead then. The end result is a nice rounded tire, that you wont get alot of sidewall roll.

New Bow tie MT - kevinF - 04-07-2006

where did you get them? how much? and whats the exact name?

My bad...so they are as wide as Crimefighter MT's, roughly?

New Bow tie MT - Tex - 04-07-2006

maybe even skinnier than Crime MT's? I bet they are lighter also. Those are my next set of tires.

I see what you mean on gluing them up George! that sounds like a kick ass way to do it. Sounds complicated to get it 100% perfect though.

New Bow tie MT - cemeb4dk - 04-07-2006

Dave they are the same width as CF's. 2.72" verses the stock 3.3 bow ties.

Well I changed my mind and mounted them on the str wheels, so I cut the inside bead of the kyosho wheels and glued them that way and in the stock bead on the outside. SO I am going to run a set of stock(old Bow ties) on the crt wheels but glued as I described above

How are 2.2 bowties for Gas Truck? Any good outdoor?

will they work on the revo?

New Bow tie MT - cemeb4dk - 04-07-2006

they fit all max size wheels

New Bow tie MT - kevinF - 04-07-2006

ok, but will maxx wheels fit on the revo?

New Bow tie MT - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 04-07-2006

yep, they rub the arms just a teenie bit at some points in the travel, but you can grind the arm and fix that, easy. Hexes are the same size.

New Bow tie MT - kevinF - 04-07-2006

ok ,thanks....................the reason i asked was cause im getting the new revo 3.3 in june

New Bow tie MT - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 04-07-2006

Just pay attention to the offset (or backspacing) of the wheel to keep the width of the truck the same. ProLine velocities come with various offsets in Maxx size. Use the ones you prefer. I use this one. Velocity (standard offset) #2660-02/04 on the Revo.

New Bow tie MT - chitownracerLST - 04-11-2006

Any one know if these tires are available for the RC10GT ??

New Bow tie MT - Tex - 04-11-2006

yep, bowties are available as 2.2 tires Smile

New Bow tie MT - chitownracerLST - 04-11-2006

Thx Bro, Hope your felling better Wink

New Bow tie MT - cemeb4dk - 04-11-2006

the tire discussed in this thread is for the new Bow tie mt, Which is a narrower version of the standard bow tie. This would not apply to the 1/10 scale size bow tie, that would remain the same. SO yes they do have the normal older version of the bow tie for the 1/10 scale, but not the new version.

I just wanted everyone to be clear, I am sure it was understood, but just in case

New Bow tie MT - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 04-11-2006

Those would be these...
