Just a bit of hobby shop info.

The owners of the Hobby Town in St Charles just purchased the Hobby Town in Aurora, so the original owners are no longer involved. They will have limited hours until all the inventory is logged and a major clean up is completed.

It still remains to be seen if this is good or bad, but one thing at least the store will be more organized hopefully they will lean more towards RC than Barbies and Kites.

That's good news. I've only been to that store a couple times but
it's always been a weird experience to say the least.

I went to the aurora store and hated every minute of it. They have no idea about what they have in stock and are useless in helping locate anything. One thing they are good at is "make you deal on truck" kinda sales technique. Bad thing is the st.chucky guys do not want to carry 30% fuel but the aurora store does, all I can do is pray they keep it in stock or even carry it at the st.chuck store.

StC Hobby Town carries 30% odonnell. That where we buy all of ours.

I was wondering who was going to buy them out. Last time I was there, they mentioned they were selling the place, but did not say to who.

LOL!!!!

That's how I got my MGT. I went in there one day because it's near a store my wife and I
go to all the time. I expressed a little interest in the truck. They kept finding ways to lower
the price of the truck until it was 30 dollars less than I have ever seen it.

They told me that if I wanted them to get some I would have to buy a whole case of 30%. I just want a gallon when I need one. otherwise they don't stock it. I've been back and forth on that one for a while with them. Unless they just started to carry it, I haven't checked in a month or so.

Hobby town Aurora - SixVi6-Camaro - 11-23-2004

yeah HTSC does carry 30% but it shows up and dissapears quick. They really don't like to take special orders on fuel there for some reason though. I asked the same and got the same answer that I'd ahve to buy a case for them to order it. But now that I think of it I shoudl ahve just boguht the case anyhow because last time I was there I snaged 3 gallons of 30% OD and I think a case is 4 gallons.

Well I'm not sure, maybe just lucky I have been getting it there since probably July or so I think thats when I made the switch. But I do agree it is hit and miss with them and their parts.

Hobby town Aurora - DO-U-MAXX - 11-23-2004

I think a bunch of us should get together and get a case of some maxy's 30% and split up the cases. I heard that stuff is the bomb and have been itchin to run it but cant afford a full case right now.

Hobby town Aurora - rocco79 - 11-24-2004

what makes it better than o'donnell???

Hobby town Aurora - rocco79 - 11-24-2004

I wonder what will happen with John the big guy that worked on r/c at the aurora hobbytown? I cant see him having the same setup with the new owners.

Hobby town Aurora - thenewguy821 - 11-24-2004

I hear the White Lightning 30% is supposed to be VERY good fuel.
