urrggg need 2 vent - Racin' Ranger1 - 02-27-2006 well the night started off fine was going 2 change stering servo cuz the other was starting 2 crap out so i took the servo off said, "man this thing is dirty." so decided to take the tank off even dirtier. said im just going to do a total break down. clean so b 4 i went to bed i decided to see if the new servo was any better or what pluged the servo plug in to the reciever pluged the pack in turned on the radio fliped the car switck and.................smoke pouring out of the switch and the pack so i ran down stairs ripped the pack from the reciever and threw it into the yard. urgg im so  :confused:does any one know why this could have happened please LMK and if any one has a AA pack i could have/borrow it would be greatly apreciated. thanks urrggg need 2 vent - Traxxas_Junkee - 02-27-2006 i think i still have my AA pack from the rustler. you can pick up a cheap reciver pack for like $12 at LH, you dont really need a switch if you can find somewhere else to mount your reciver pack, thats why i dont like switeches, but since i put one on my maxx it has been fine, and the revo is good, so far... urrggg need 2 vent - Racin' Ranger1 - 02-27-2006 ok urrggg need 2 vent - UE-Maxx - 02-27-2006 Traxxas_Junkee Wrote:i think i still have my AA pack from the rustler. you can pick up a cheap reciver pack for like $12 at LH, you dont really need a switch if you can find somewhere else to mount your reciver pack, thats why i dont like switeches, but since i put one on my maxx it has been fine, and the revo is good, so far... If you don't use a switch, what do you do? Just plug the Rx pack into the receiver? People who use Rx boxes or cover their rx can't do that. urrggg need 2 vent - Ponch - 02-27-2006 UEM, you can just run a servo extention outta the box and plug it in there. urrggg need 2 vent - Traxxas_Junkee - 02-27-2006 Revo2k Wrote:UEM, you can just run a servo extention outta the box and plug it in there. yup i just had an extension running out of the reciver box and then the reciver pack wire running out and i just plugged them in. urrggg need 2 vent - Tex - 02-27-2006 you plugged your battery into the receiver backwards. I've done it. Your servo, receiver, rx pack should all be dead. Mine was anyway. And I burned a $100 servo/ $50 receiver urrggg need 2 vent - kevinF - 02-27-2006 Tex Wrote:you plugged your battery into the receiver backwards. I've done it. ive smoked packs before and only blown the reciver and not the servos, hopefully he didnt blow them either. urrggg need 2 vent - Tex - 02-28-2006 my servo was the first thing to go up in smoke. The rx pack actually lived and I just put new wires on it. urrggg need 2 vent - Ponch - 02-28-2006 Ouch...That sucks. At least we know what it was now...We just have to get poor little travis some plugs with tabs on them so he can't plug them in backwards lmao... urrggg need 2 vent - Traxxas_Junkee - 02-28-2006 LOL, when i blew a few of my packs it wasnt caused by a servo, it was something like the zipties holding the wires got broke and the wires either melted on the motor and shorted out or they got chewed up by the spur and shorted out. urrggg need 2 vent - Traxxas_Junkee - 02-28-2006 LOL, when i blew my packs it wasnt from a servo, the zip ties that were holding the wires together broke or something stupid like that, and all the wires eventually got jerked around and either melted on the motor, or they got chewed up by the spur. urrggg need 2 vent - Ponch - 02-28-2006 Good job, Sir Double-Post Alot. lol urrggg need 2 vent - Racin' Ranger1 - 02-28-2006 Tex Wrote:my servo was the first thing to go up in smoke.
