Is acetone any good to remove the ca glue from tires?
Also what would the acetone do to the rubber? if sitting in it for a couple hours.

I have some glue remover and brushed it on---it sucked and takes to long.
So I poured it into a little bow and set the tire edges in it and it did much better.
Down side is I am out of it.

So back to my questions.

Actone is some potnet stuff, I have used it to clean up some parts like a-rms and stuff. It got the dirt and grime right out but I would be afraid that if the rubber was exposed to the actone for to ling it would start to eat the rubber. I would test it on something first if you can.

I had that in mind--already ahead of you on that

I was going to use the fingernail polish stuff first.
Since it is in plastic I think it would be okay.

I gotta get this off for my new Maximizer rims due to arrive.
I would hate to buy new tread for this because of glue.

Best way to remove tires with Acetone, is to get a can of acetone from Wal-mart (about $2-$3 a gallon). Get a 5 gallon bucket, and put a brick in the bottom. Pour the acetone in the bucket, making sure to not go over the brick. Stack the tires on the brick, and cover the bucket. Let them sit overnight. The vapors from the acetone break free all the glue, and since the tires never touch the acetone, the rubber is safe.

Acetone works good. I use that method also. But, that wont work with C- Switches, C-Boas, or M2 or M3 compound Pro-lines. It'll destroy the tires.

You should be safe using acetone on the bowties. Wait until snakebite confirms though.
