I finally got my junk together thanks to Jack. And I'm dying to get this thing on some real terrain instead of my book shelf.

How far do you want to drive? I have the Rock river and Rock Cut state park near me. I also know of great a crawling spot in WI. There isn't a whole lot of rocks in Chicago. When Spring comes a round I plan set up a rock crawling event.

mnster, glad to see you joined. I really dont mind driving. There are a few other people on here that have/are planning on building crawlers. Mines finally kinda decent and i just wanna take it out. Are those spots near the Byron dragstrip?

Across the river from the strip If I go in to town to day I'll take some pictures. My crawlers are all broke the mud I've been running my trucks through has seized everything. But I could maybe get the Clod up and running by next week. The best rock place that I can think of is in Loves Park at Rock Cut state park but you need a bike to get to the really good spots.

I explored the Rock River friday it looks like it has some large smooth rocks great for crawling. The camera was dead so maybe I'll try tomorrow. I've been looking for some place in Dekalb. That way I have some thing to do on my lunch break at college.

There is a lot more rocks around the corner but I didn't want to get out of my truck and get wet. [Image: 496804347105_0_ALB.jpg]

The best place I've ever been was devils lake

I believe cherry valley is between Belvidere and Rockford I think. Very cool crawling spot.

I know of a spot in Woodridge I've been raving about for 2 years. Six knows about it, and I think I spoke to Big Dangerous about it too. The rocks look just like the pics Mnster just posted but it's not so close to the water. Plus insted of only 10-12ft of rocks it's like 75ft by 200yds

where is this place in woodridge?

From Woodward and 87th.....go south on Woodward

You will see a 6ft tall white fence along the road on your left hand side. On the opposite side of the street you will see two neighborhood streets (townhouses). park on the second street you see (the more south street). Walk across Woodward you will see the rocks on the other side of the fence.

It's public property and the fence is there because it's a jog path right there next to the street.

the rocks on woodward are smaller.

Anyone here have some good rock crawling spots? - Tex - 04-20-2005

I bet you didn't look in the right spot then. The rocks on woodward are anywhere from about 5x5" to 1ftx1ft. The terrain varies a whole bunch too. I don't care what RC crawler you got I'd love to see you try and make it from one end to the other.

Maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about, I've never actually crawled before. (I've seen plenty in action though)
