Picking up my first handgun today! - Mr. Tune - 11-09-2005 I'm so excited. Glock 17. Not the prettiest gun out there, but it's the only gun I've rented that has never jammed or not fired, or whatever. It's dead reliable, plus light weight for easy aiming (at least for me). Picking up my first handgun today! - 7THGENDMAN - 11-09-2005 What do you need a gun for?? Just wondering. Picking up my first handgun today! - squirrel - 11-09-2005 your takin this whole board changing thing a little to serious john!!!!!!!!! when you said to start being serious you meant it!!!!!! j/k Picking up my first handgun today! - Mr. Tune - 11-09-2005 7, it's for target shooting. I love it! It's a great feeling to fire a firearm. Summer equals = outdoor clays and winter = indoor range . I'm also very safe with them. For instance, there are no live rounds in my entire house and both my shotgun and handgun have trigger locks on them. Picking up my first handgun today! - squirrel - 11-09-2005 ok all the chitown members can now relax!!!! thanks for clearing that up!!! whew. . . Picking up my first handgun today! - rocco79 - 11-09-2005 I have a Desert Eagle .40. Very sweet handgun, I have the nickel finish so upkeep is simple. And since theres no kids in my apt... Its loaded with hyda-shocks. :getsome: Picking up my first handgun today! - maxximum_44 - 11-09-2005 Tune, Glock 17 is a great choice!! light weight, porcelin slide, plastic grip,17 round clips. In 4 years i've never had ANY problems with it, it was very reliable. I regret getting rid of it in a trade ( cash & .44mag) but times were hard and I did what I needed to do. I used to live at the range, at least twice a month with my girl, but have'nt been back in a couple years. Shooting a 9 1/2" barrel .44 mag with a scope is fun but gets old pretty quick, not like my glock that was easy to tow to and back from the city discretly, now this big monster is a pain to take anywhere, and after a day of shooting and reciting DIRTY HARRY's " Do you feel lucky punk" my hand gets pretty sore and bruised, i'd rather rent @ the range . The Illinois ban has been lifted, so no more wimpy 9 or 10 shot clips. So Tune enjoy!!!! Picking up my first handgun today! - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 11-09-2005 "Oh, you wanna take an attack posture wit' me? Yeah, you got a weapon. Clark got a weapon, Clark got a knife! We all got weapons! Anybody can blow anybody away, any second. Which is the way it ought to be. Always. It's the heaviest part of the pistol. _______________________________ Picking up my first handgun today! - maxximum_44 - 11-09-2005 Opps. :o Dave ur right, I meant to edit that before I posted. I think I still had this in my head "That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me! You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. It doesn't show up on your airport X-ray machines, and it cost more than you make here in a month." John McClane DIE HARD 2: DIE HARDER the 17 slide is indeed steel and the frame was Nylon 6. Picking up my first handgun today! - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 11-09-2005 Hollywood!!! When do they ever get it right???? I like the 92FS as well. Another good service sidearm that has served our country well. If I had the money (and how many times do we start with that statement?) I'd go for a Sig P226. Always liked them. Add a Hogue HandAll grip to that Glock and it's a nice pointer. Picking up my first handgun today! - squirrel - 11-09-2005 "your guns say replica on the side, mine says desert eagle .50, that outta percipitate your b!@#S into shriveling back into your body" i think this is from the movie snatch and i don't remember the exact lines! since we're quoting movies Picking up my first handgun today! - rocco79 - 11-09-2005 I shot the D.E. 50 at mega shooting sports.... WAY over kill!!!! Talk about a hand cannon!!! I like how all the agents in the matrix use it.... ONE handed!!! Yeah right!!!! (well i guess it was the matrix....) Picking up my first handgun today! - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 11-09-2005 Ooh, guns, guns, guns! Tigers are playing [taps table] .. tonight! I never miss a game! Clarence Bodikker - RoboCop Matrix agents shoot one handed OF COURSE ! They aren't real people. And Morpheus's Glock never needs reloading in the freeway chase in M2, either, Cuz he's imagining the whole thing!!! Still good TV !!! Picking up my first handgun today! - rocco79 - 11-09-2005 Yeah... I figured anything can happen in the matrix right!!?!? Picking up my first handgun today! - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 11-09-2005 True dat. Picking up my first handgun today! - mikeh - 11-09-2005 I hope you did not join the NRA. I don't like their lobbying practices. Picking up my first handgun today! - maxximum_44 - 11-09-2005 The D.E .50 is pretty ridicules, I've shot one on a few occasions. If you try one handed with it you'll probally brake ur wrist or knock out some of your own teeth from the recoil!! I've shot a few.40s, Never shot a .40 D.E but it is more ideal compaired to the .50 or the long snouted monster I own. I like the 9 and 10mm's and 40's too. If I were to go to another large caliber it would be a .45 ,Glock 21 or something, a mossberg shotgun (don't know much about shotguns) or a nice rifle(don't know much about those either) Picking up my first handgun today! - maxximum_44 - 11-09-2005 Keeping it rc!!
