I know they originally stated that, but someone on Savagecentral, counted the teeth on each gear, and 3rd gear had the same teeth and ratio as the 2nd gear on the 2 speed. HPI may have changed that since the first run of 3-speeds though.

I'm not saying you are wrong, just relaying what someone else had posted.Smile

I know... they are posting what HPI told advertises. All I was saying, is someone on SC bought the 3-speed, and while installing it, counted out the gear ratios on each gear. This was about 8 months ago, so it may have been changed. I am in no way knocking the Savage, or HPI, just posting what I had seen. It is completely possible that the guy who counted the gears was wrong.

Can't we just get along... :vader: Big Grin

I really appreciate your guys insite. I guess what will be the deciding factor is actually seeing one in front of me and looking at the constuction and which ever one catches my eye is the one I will go with. From the sounds of it I will definitely stay away from the old LST. With the savage stock radio can you switch channels? I know the LST's you can.

LST Vs. Savage? - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 02-23-2006

Go to LHR forum and check the damage pictures of the guy whose LST ranaway into a HOUSE. It's a total.

RIP LST.

With the stock HPI AM radio the only way to switch channels is to buy more crystals.

LST Vs. Savage? - dirtguy90 - 03-01-2006

yeah, u can buy new crystals for like $10
i went through the same thing as you went through...and i'm probably going to get a savage as well
