My wife and I use cloth diapers, we have since my first son was born 11 yrs ago. It will save you thousands of dollars. Of course you have to wash them but the cost of washing a diaper that is reusable is far less than buying landfill refuse. Lets put it this way I believe the average baby goes through about 7,000 diapers by the time they are potty trained. Thats roughly $3-4000.00 dollars, in diapers! With cloth you can cut that down to about $900.00 including washing and drying them if you use a laundry mat. Its less if you have your own washer and dryer.

I also do not lose sleep at night because my wife breast-feeds, meaning no getting up at 2am to warm a bottle. She just rolls over and gives the babe his/her milk. Plus its free.

Now of course these methods of child maintenance are not for eveybody and I am not trying to convert anybody, but I have saved a ton of money in the process and its enviromentally friendly which is something I feel strongly about. On another note breastfeeding will assist the new mother in losing weight significantly faster than bottle feeding ( fat stores in the mother is used to produce breast milk) which make them feel good about themselves and decreases cases of postpartum depression. It's also good for the new baby, mother natures creations cannot not be improved upon by mankinds science.

its good to get all this info. becuase i got one on the way in april, i find out next week if its a boy or girl Smile

Snakebite's Daddy Thread - PoPRC - 12-10-2005

I never knew what I was getting, and each was a happy suprise. I think it should be that way, dont find out just let nature run its course. No matter what it will not change anything except the color you paint the room.

Snakebite's Daddy Thread - rocco79 - 12-10-2005

any word from the new dad???

Snakebite's Daddy Thread - HAGASAN - 12-10-2005

I talked to him this morning and he was going to meet me at Als, I told him to stick around the house for crying out loud. He told me he was going to the bank. Cant be at the bank for 10hrs so I kind of figured something was up. Hope the best for him and his new baby boy, hope everything is going just fine right now too.

Snakebite's Daddy Thread - JOE - 12-10-2005

Well i would just wait and find out later, i want to start buying stuff for the room, and clothes plus i just am curious. Smile

Snakebite's Daddy Thread - snakebite46 - 12-11-2005

Wow what a long day !!!!! I jsut got back fromt he hosiptal to catch some shut eye before I go back.

The whole thign still feels surreal at this point. Little guy and mom are doing great. No complications at all. Little guy has a cone head but that'll go away. Baby cried when he first came out. (got some lungs on him). And then he was silent the rest of the night.

Thanks guy for the kind words. I really appreciate it. For a bunch of guys I've never met, or spend so little time BS'ing and getting to know on a more personal level, you guys are a great bunch......

My camera died from all the pics I was taking. I'll post some pics up later tonight of my little guy.

Thanks again for the kind words !!!!!!

Snakebite's Daddy Thread - rocco79 - 12-11-2005

Thats a big baby 8 lbs 10 oz's. Congrats!!

Snakebite's Daddy Thread - Michowski - 12-11-2005

that about an average weight. I weight like 9 and a half when i came out. My 2 nephews were huge, i remember upper 11's lower 12's. Now thats a big baby. Rich just has a normal healthy size baby. You cant ask for much more then that. SO rich does this mean no leisure today (sunday)?

Snakebite's Daddy Thread - cemeb4dk - 12-11-2005

Ryan

You weighed 9lbs at birth, and 18lbs at age 18.

Snakebite's Daddy Thread - SixVi6-Camaro - 12-11-2005

Congrats Rich!!! HAve the two of you decided on a name? Is it little Rich Jr?

Snakebite's Daddy Thread - Tex - 12-11-2005

congratulations Rich! Babies are the best thing to happen ever, nothing matches that. Forget about this whole RC thing for awhile and it'll be even funner when you get back into it! Consentrate on your family, they need you more than ever.
