Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 maxy 30%, ths exhaust, mccoy 59 Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-27-2006 So the same stuff you ran on the os18tm....thanks! Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - MaxxGS - 01-27-2006 Ryan did you re-shim the head for 30%? Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 nope Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - MaxxGS - 01-27-2006 I agree with your reasons for going back to the 2.5 TRX. I would like to here how the OS carb works on the 2.5 TRX engine. I think alot of 2.5 problems are because of the carb they use. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 well if your going sunday you can check mine out. Definatly a lot more reliable. Engine running pig rich with the needles almost backed out and it still just sat there idling on its own. I didnt keep it that rich but definatly shows me its got some reliability. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - MaxxGS - 01-27-2006 I'm thinking about going Sunday. I've been working so much I'm not up to speed with the Leisure Hours schedule. I guess I need to read and see what days are what. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 come on out man. Have a day of fun. Nothing like just getting it out and hanging out with the 3 stooges. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-28-2006 also anybody going sunday with a revo is welcome to use my setup station with standard 14mm hexes. Just come on over and say hi Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - rocco79 - 01-28-2006 The stooges will be 2 strong on sunday. Curly is out. Family plans Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-28-2006 i never did like him anyways.... Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - FreeRideFrosty - 01-28-2006 LoL... I'm glad that ryan is happy with the motor and that I found out the downside of the TM before dropping the coin on one. I will be getting a radio and as soon as that is out of the way probably the XTM. For $60 it can't hurt to try. If it sucks it will play backup to my 2.5... And I didn't re-shim the head for 30% either... Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - thenewguy821 - 01-28-2006 I haven't shimed any of the engines I have run 40% in, and have had no problems. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Ponch - 01-28-2006 What's a shim? lmao j/k..But yeah I never reshimmed my head for 30%. What were you supposed to do, add one or take one off? Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - destroy_my_revo_15 - 01-28-2006 add i think.... Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Ponch - 01-28-2006 lol I still aint doing it but thanks for the info anyway...Besides, I run 25%! Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-28-2006 add....if needed Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - MaxxGS - 01-29-2006 On Sunday's how long is the typical race day if racing starts at 11:00am? Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-29-2006 On a light day (after the Trophy Race) we finished at 5:00pm.....SuperBowl right? Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - FreeRideFrosty - 01-29-2006 About 5 or 6. If there are a lot of people longer I would assume... LoL. When I was there there were about 80 people I think and we got out at a little after 5. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-29-2006 ur supposed to add a shim for 30% as it will cause too much stress on ur motor if u dont, it will run like a raped ape for awhile but it wont last as long as a properly shimmed motor. FYI most .21's are shimmed for 25% nitro .18 and lower are setup for 20% Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-29-2006 Those those who say' I just run 30%, no problem" are just slowly pulling the pin on a gernade? Maybe this is why so many guys say OS18's are crap and fail after 2 gallons? Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - FreeRideFrosty - 01-29-2006 Maybe that is why my 2.5 made it 1.75 gallons...?? Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-29-2006 Dunno? That or the inverted 40,000rpm 1/2backflips? What exactly broke on the 2.5? Were those pieces of the piston skirt? Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-29-2006 possibly yes, Im not sure what the correct deck heights need to be for those motors to run 30%, but they usually come with the proper shim to make it right. |
