Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - thenewguy821 - 01-27-2006 FreeRideJunkie Wrote:What break-in method are you using?? The traxxas one or the traditional heat cycle?? Has anyone seen a wear difference using either method on the 2.5?? I know I broke mine in the traxxas way for the first time and havve so far had great results... Every engine manufacturer has their own "Proven" Method of Break-in, but for the most part, the Heat Cycling method has seemed to be the best overall. I'm sure that Mich is using the Heat cycle method. For more info on Heat Cycling, CLICK HERE Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 i just wish the temps outside would rise. They said 50's for today and right now its about 45. feels warmer then it is so im happy to at least have a perfect day for a winter break in. Now i can show everybody how bad i suck on sunday. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - rocco79 - 01-27-2006 Ryan and the rope-a-dope techinque!!! LOL!!! I know how much you such (at the track) and thats not much! I cant speak for your private life!! LOL!!! Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Tex - 01-27-2006 I'm just glad he went with the unreliable 2.5, i have a better chance of winning when he flames out all the time.hehehe Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 you'll all probly slaughter me anyway no matter what motor i got. Im out of practice so its anyones games. Hopefully i can get enough fuel through the motor tho for it to be decently broken in were i can lean it out. This os carb really dropped the temps compared to the previous 2.5 i had. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Sh1nn3r - 01-27-2006 2.5r is a great motor when it runs right. Thats why ill probably be going with a tz or another tm soon. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 better get a bunch of those motors. They wear out very fast. Most if not all the pro racers are going back to the 2.5 as well. just something to think about Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Sh1nn3r - 01-27-2006 When slayden goes back to the 2.5r i will not think about a tz or tm. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 slayden has already said he is gonna be running 2.5 again along with all the traxxas drivers Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 lots of people are ditching the .18's. Just not a long lasting motor and at 200 bucks a pop you can be running the 2.5 which has just about the same power but will last twice as long as the os motor's. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - FreeRideFrosty - 01-27-2006 I am almost convinced to just keep running the 2.5. Most likely it will be that or the XTM motor. I can't see dropping $200+ on an overpowered BB right now... Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 plus you can buy 2 2.5's for the price of one os motor so your getting like 12 gallons between the 2 2.5's compared to 3 or 4 gallons from the one os for the same price. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - FreeRideFrosty - 01-27-2006 But you can get 2 XTM's for the price of 1 2.5..... Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 2.5 is also a proven race motor Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-27-2006 3-4 gallons on an OS motor? u suuuure about that.... Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 if that many yes. at least with the .18's Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-27-2006 oh the TR's or what ever Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 tm's. They suck big time. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-27-2006 Time for the official OS engine thread? Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 nope, there not even worth that. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - maxximum_44 - 01-27-2006 Mich, no O.S. What's in the greevo now-a-days? Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-27-2006 ya TM's I have heard that alot, I know the TZ or whatever is alot better, scott cramer ran one in his UMT all season Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Michowski - 01-27-2006 back to the trusty 2.5r. 2.5 holds a great tune, runs really strong, and overall is an awesome motor. I liked the os because of the low end snap that thing had but il just have to get used to the 2.5 again. Still tons of bottom end so we'll see how it goes. Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-27-2006 cool sounds good Official Leisure Hours Raceways thread. - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-27-2006 Ryan, so what pipe, fuel and plug will you run? |
