Ugh im not starting a gay PC vs. Mac war. Its pointless. I only use Macs because I do an immense amount of video editing and Macs are very good for that kind of thing.

You can build your own computer that will destroy an apple pretty easily now.
with tri-video cards and 10 gigs of ram, intel i7, 2.66ghz quad core hyper threading, I don't see how there's really any apple-vantage now.
Go to Mac.com, find the Mac Pro Tower and you can build yourself Stephen Spielberg's Mac. Seriously though, Macs destroy when it comes to editing. I can guarentee that out of the last 10 big-box movies you saw, 8 were made on Macs. Slumdog Millionaire was made on a Mac.
I love macs. At the $1,000 range though they just didn't give me near the bang for the buck that a PC did. As long as you're not an idiot you won't have major virus or spyware problems either.

It did win quite a few awards and I thought it was good. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I spent a lot of time observing how it was put together and I liked that too.
Maybe more appealing. Hulk and the latest King Kong were made on Macs.

well steven speilbergs mac is different.
My computer tower cost me 1300 about 2 months ago, and it destroys every game I can throw at it, and it only has 1 video card and 6 gigs of ram, has room for 2 and up to like 16 gigs of ram.
I personally think a workstation built properly could do better than a mac. Then again maybe its the software or the O.S. that gives the specific advantage. I only used a mac In high-school in a video production class and the mac i used was a lagging slow peice of crap, lol.

I think both platforms perform well at their most 'common' duties.
PC's Own Games
and Macs, not too sure specifically, Video Production, Image things...little help here people not too fermiliar.
Video production, web managing, DVD burning, audio recording and editing, and Photoshop especially. Mostly the complicated, expensive things they are good at.
