I'm getting a hellfire for a sweet deal... I don't wanna hear that I'm not going to win races, cause guess what, I haven't raced since '96 at LH and probably won't anytime soon... (yeah, I've read each thread on this forum about the hellfire)

so, with that said, the engine is shot, what should I put in it to bash with?
Cheap route would be like an Axial .28 Pullstart. they are torquey unsure of engine life.
I was actually thinking OS 21VG, I had one in the jammin' buggy Roc sold me and it was pretty bad assed! shoot, I'd rather have torque than high end to bash with..
Ttr .28 for $115.
On a budget....one of the Axials, we've had plenty of people happy with those motors.

Don't care much about money spent........HPI K5.9! IIRC it's 3.75hp @ 39,900:drool:

Best part is that you should be able to use the carb and pull start parts off your original HPI 4.6SS H.O. for any of the three enginesBig Grin If I didn't know any better, I'd swear that the same factory made the HPI 4.6SS/4.6SS H.O./K5.9, Axial .28/.32, and Racer's Edge .32Wink
all those big blocks and over .28 motors wont even compare to the power you could get out of a race .21 or race .28 not to mention life span. All those HP ratings are bullshit
He's not looking for a race motor Mike...........
Czech, race motors are a bit more finicky and besides that would be overkill for a basher Rolleyes

I shouldn't need to upgrade the drivetrain should I? I don't even think he's ever blown a diff out in it (my Mom drove it a lot... few miles, little ol' lady driven, lol)

geez, BJoe, isn't 3.75 hp a bit overkill? lmao....
os 21vg
Race motors arent any more finicky than any other motors. Anyone ever heard of a vspec...Im just saying dont waste your money on some POS RTR motor that has great HP ratings
axial .28rr. i have one in my mantis (just like the hell fire) and it screams!
lol If I was a basher I sure as hell wouldnt waste my money on a 300 dollar engine. just get a surefire 32 or an axial .28 and you'll be straight. either that or the 30vg, instead of the 21vg. it'll be more your style i will assume

you're not even a basher! what are you doing in this thread spewing your race motor crap? leave now, thank you...
thanks guys, I'll check out those Axials or maybe that OS21, I'm honestly not sure which way I'll go, but I've got choices....

does Scotty carry the axials at the shop?

For a basher....nah, especially if you're going to do your Dennis Anderson impersonation with that rig:racing:
that's not priced real bad... I may pick one up to try in the hellfire and also check it out in the savage, that engine has a bunch of time on it and probably needs replaced also...

gotta have the power if I wanna drive like Dennis right? Big Grin
OS 30VG is the way to go lol. That or axial
Rolleyesgood idea get like a .40...the bigger the number the more power right...sighRolleyes
mike you are just a dumb racer. i want to get the 7.7 from the genesis

hey, if I can figure out a way to mount that 350 chevy engine that's in the garage onto the chassis, I'll do it!
Just sayin the OS cause of the 2 year warranty Lol
V-spec.... Basher approved by muah. $225 new or get one from a certain hippy for $75 and send it in with a BS story and get a new one. Then send that one in when it wears out! (12 gallons strong)
hmm who could possibly have recommended that, oh yea...
New VSpec $225 from where? I always thought those were $300 roughly.
Whoops. Thought they were a bit cheaper I guess.
