anybody around bolingbrook want to solder a receiver for me?
Rob, Tex has soldered a reciever or two in his day. He might be able to help...
Rob, is this for your Spektrum ?
I'm almost sure the spektrum uses a coxail type antenna. Send it in before you damage it more.

alright... guess its gonna be another 4 or 5+ weeks without being able to use my maxx
why does it take 4-5 weeks?

thats what I want to know. revo jake on traxxas got spektrum and he had to send it in for repairs, and it took about 5 weeks to get back to him, which is a little excessive in my opinion.
does he even live in this country?
I sent in my JR RS300 reciever because the antenna pulled completely out. (My fault)

Sent it on a Monday to Horizon. They called on Wednesday said they got it and it was fixed. They installed a new antenna and said the total with shipping to get it back to me was $8.00. :joy: I got it back on Friday all in the same week.

For $8.00 send it to Horizon.

you got lucky I guess... I sent out my spektrum receiver on the 12th they got it on the 15th, they didn't check it in till the 18th, and they havent even had anyone look at it yet, and they dont expect it to be looked at, and repaired till the 25th, THEN they are going to send it back to me. I'll be lucky to get it back all in the same month I guess. So much for getting a good bashing in before school starts.
When I sent in my spektrum RX's a while back it took a week but that was for a software upgrade. dunno how you guys are riping the antenas out of your sprktrum RX's because they are a silly short 8" to begin with and you can cut them down to 4" without any signal loss at all.

I had my spektrum open at one point and the antena looked to be plain wire sodered to the PCB just like any RX I've seen except the wire was thicker then most RX wires.

X64v Wrote:No, you can't solder it. A few guys on the grid tried that and they lost all but like 20 feet of radio range.

20ft of range is about as much as I got with no antenna at all.

How do you know if you have a Rx that would need upgrading??
