Hey guys, new dude here......wish I heard about this site earlier cause I would be there today. I'll have to catch the next outing. I live only 15-20 minutes from there, but never run there. Never seem to be open when I've been by. Hope to see ya'll soon Big Grin
Welcome to the board racindude!

Jack, Bryan, and myself just got back from RSJ. I had lots of fun. Ran through 4 tanks of gas and no breakage Smile. Uneven jumps and ruts/bumps in the straights made it very challenging, but also lots of fun to race on. I think they should do some maintenance as it seems it shouldn't be like that. On some of the jumps you only had about 1 foot in width to generate a straight, nice looking jump, otherwise your going in the air all off centered. Nothing good can come of that. In my case, it resulted in many lid landings.

Thanks to all the guys helping out marshalling while they weren't running their trucks. I know my truck needed to be flipped over on many occasions.
well i just took a look at my maxx, and EVERY THING IS COVERED IN OIL, and i hope by next weekend ill have my 2.5 motor from my 4-tec swapted over to the maxx
yeah it was pretty cool. MY JT was hooked up there pretty well. you guys that left early missed it. I landed hard right on the left front corner of the truck off that back jump and snaped both pillow balls like twigs. I bought a couple new ones and kept running though.. lol. by the end of the day I could get around the track prety well. If they work on the jumps a bit more and open up a couple of the turns just a little better it could be a good track. Not too bad for a week and a half old track.
I had fun... the track is ummm ok I guess... I think I'm used to Leisure which IMO is a way better track (and not just because it's 10 mins from my house)... The surface at Leisure is a mostly clay dirt mix and has VERY high traction...The driver stand at Leisure is double the hight if not more than RSJ... The driver stand at RSJ is too short making it harder to judge exactly where your RC is on the racetrack, especially the back stretch with the big jump... I don't know maybe I'm just short :p ...I wish I could of ran more than two tanks (with two different trucks)... the more track experience you have the funner it gets Big Grin ...Overall RSJ is too far of a drive for me, I'm 20 miles out from the I55 & 294 junction and the track is another hour from that at least... See ya at Berwyn :p Big Grin
i personally had fun there untill my shock shaft broke. It was really hard at first especially with no control but eventually you got used to it and started doing ok. I definatly wanna go back 1 more time at least.
OH man, I just read this post, I live 10 miles from that track and was pounding the truck at a forest preserve out in barrington yesterday..Iw ould have loved to get out there and 1) see the Revo's in action. 2) meet and greet.

Oh well...I'm going up there today (sunday) to get a new spider gear cause mine got stripped yesterday at my buddies house...i drove now for a week and a half, every day, 2-5 tanks of gas a day and haven't had a problem...until I take it to my friends house where ALL of my failures have happened...1 broken shock, 2x stripped spur gears, and now a stripped spider gear...oh well...he's waiting for his Revo to show up and he's starting to get scared seein how nitro trucks are a "hobby" not as much a "toy" like the electric trucks. LOL...i keep telling him if he cancels his order for the Revo and doesn't buy a truck, he's paying for half of mine since he's driven it almost half the time I have it "so he could be ready to compete against me when his truck comes in" LOL...sure is fun fuc'n with peeps heads!
Hmm. I would not go back. Besides the driver stand being too short, the condition of the track or lack of and you cant see the back straight. Now I know i need practice on a track but wont be this one. Finally this place is a hike for me like 40 miles each way.
