Can anyone recommend to me the best place to run R/C here in (or around) Chicago! Pretty soon I plan on buying the Traxxas Slash, but I need a safe place to really let it run. Where do you guys all race at?
What do you mean by "safe"??? Unless your trying to play in the getto I would say any track or parking-lot would be "safe".
What town would you be driving from, Chicago itself? A suburb?
Chicago
Anyone ? :o:
I'm sure that any park or yard would be fine. The slash is electric, so you can run it basically anywhere. The street would also be fine to run on, as long as you watch for cars.
I had some Slashes running at my track, but I figured it was too far away fromthe city -- it is Marengo. I don't know your other best options.
There is a track in Bristol,Wi. racing them on Monday nights. We have about 9 racing every week. No one has broken yet since they came out on the market.
Track opens @ 3:30 racing starts @5:30
Bristol RC Hobbies & Raceway
behind DeVry on the northside of Chi is a set of woods. There is jumps and stuff setup and it would be a great place to take a slash.

if you take the street that goes between Dominicks and Jewel (west) then go more west through the DeVry parking lot (all the way across the parking lot) you will get to a neighborhood street. across that street is a park and small parking lot.
Park there and there is an opening in the fence on the southside of the parking lot.
You can't miss the jumps at that point.
Starguard, Im in the City and frequent the Devry jumps often....let me know when you get some gear and we can meet up.
