will that just let me read excel files? I need to download and save an excel spreadsheet and be able to ad numbers in the spreadsheet. And my old 97 version doesn't have the memory to handle the newer versions graphs, colors and stuff.

Thanks but think I will stick with a legit copy of Microsofts version. This spreadsheet has alot of macros in it, and don't want anything to get lost in the conversion

Teacher and Student version of Office is cheap...and if you have a student in school, you can get it cheaper through Microsoft's direct sales program that gives schools a discount...you can search it out on MS's website.
