So after watching Mnster and his Bro rule the comp with DIG, who else is building a system and how are you doing it?

Im using a modified version of this: Front Dig By Miniwheeler The Hoopty Builder - Oregon R/C Rock Crawlers
I simplified it allot (can do a build thread if anyone needs)
Probably just going to save up and get that sw2 or sw3 tranny with the built in disengage/dig for the rear.
wheres the fun in that????
Get to show off the bling-age Big Grin
I might do the one you posted though...

What's your simplified version consist of?
pretty basic, just 2 male Maxx shafts with a rod connecting them, 1 female maxx cut down with a couple of spring spacers glued it and a slide collar made out of spring spacers and brass/JB weld...it still has a bit to go (been spending too much time working on a tuber) I eliminated allot of the complicated linkages etc. When I build the second 1 Ill take pics along the way.
Got a brake setup though?
newb question. Whats dig and what does it do?
Locks the rear tires and disengages the driveshaft (equivalent of pulling the e-brake in a front wheel drive car) it allows the driver to get on the gas and turn the front wheels, which then pivots on the rear axle (really tight turning pretty much).

insane.... I was thinkin how how air locking diffs would be but this is by far much cooler
for the brake Im using 2 2-56 screws bolted into the DS...I cant find the build thread where i got the idea....
What are they going to grab onto though? Just curious.
Ill take some pics before I install it, otherwise you wont understand (I had pics and it took me a good hr to figure it all out)
Thanks Smile
Aw crap, looks like I started another trend.

Mine is just the basic miniwheeler design.
Whew...2 nights later, I have a complete dig setup!!!! Big Grin
Thankfully I kept my reverse servo from my revo a long time ago because it came in handy! I'll post pics later, though it is basically that one posted in this thread.
Lol....
