Im looking to get my nephew into r/c i figure I would start him out small so I can get one too
. Any info on those xmod cars... Are they good? Is radio shack the only place to get them? There any other mini cars that you recommend?

both are way more hobbist level/race oriented than XMods. But the price XMods offer lots of "stater" fun. I have 2.
Xmods are cool.
So are the losi "micro" series (micro baja, micro desert truck, micro t, etc...) and those he can jump and stuff, and they're a bit smaller than the xmod and come with a rechargeable battery where the xmods do not.
i have a kyosho mini inferno and its built well and for 100 bucks its not bad i reccomend getting the rechargable 8 cell battery for it
I was leaning more towards the losi mini-t. They worth the 100 bucks?
