i plan on buying the new team associated rc8 factory team buggy and debating on what motor to throw in it the 3 i have in mind are another vspec , or the new os 28 or a rb 928 i do like os so far i have 2 vspec's i really like. and i also have a p5x that is ok but i would like to try something different i dont race i only bash with some friends on friday nites running on a oval course . what is your opinions on those 3 motors please let me know i really have heard nothing about the rb 928 so if you seen them run or can give me some feedback please let me know
just stay with what you know... Vspec man.
i agree w/ that. If you already know how to tune it and how it likes to run, why change that?
chris the os carb is the best, easy to tune ,holds a tune, motors are priced right. if you plan on racing in the future a 21 is as big as you can go with the buggy,a 28 in truggy. but if your just having fun os just came out with a new 28 that i hear is a beast. the italian motors are harder to tune, narrower window, take longer to break in,parts are more,
ok you guys have a good point i will stick to os and try that new 28 i have heard some good things about it . or i may even just go with vspec again i was just hopping to find something with a little more top end
With a vspec you shouldn't have a need for more top end...what pipe are you running? what gas, 20 or 30%? glow plug model number?
yeah tex it right, a differnt pipe can add much more top end
im running odonell 30% with a p7 plug and a jp2 pipe
also i have heard that the team associated rc8 buggy is having issues with the bulkheads what other buggy are good besides the losi i really dont care for losi

i will look into them
Sorry to hijack the thread but how is the longevity of the V-spec?
i have had one of my vspec's for a while this vspec has zero pinch i must honestly have about 10 or more gallons through it and it still holds a perfect idle and runs just as fast as it did when it was new and holds temp at about 220 i will rebuild it soon but not yet no until i have too

9 gallons and running strong here.

the new v specs have a better rear bearing, and beefed up case. great motor but if it runs on the lean side the bushing on the rod/crank will wear fast. seen some cases split due to the rod slapping. the new motors will last longer. i have 2 jp mod v specs that i've ran for two seasons. i will be running stock v specs next year.
Thanks guys it looks like That's the motor I will be getting.
