i have a dynamite rear exhaust rotary carb, sg shaft that i will be using. the gt2 is setup to use this kind of motor so it will drop right in.Smile this is a 3/4 hp motor that i think will be the perfect choice and ira is going with the os tg 1/2 hp that is also a rear exhaust,sg shaft, rotary carb. the os will be a good indoor motor but it wont be fast enough outdoor on the larger pro series tracks. the dynamite should do well on both and they are both about the same price. there are other motors that can be used like the tz WAY TOO MUCH hp or many side exhaust mills but keep in mind this is a 2 wheel drive truck that if you plan on racing the more hp motors will only be harder to drive. = buy the gt2 , a rear exhaust dynamite motor and come out and have fun with us Cool

I know this thread is old but I have a question.

I just built my GT-2 kit and have found the 2 starter boxes I have the wheel diameter must be to large because it hits the chassis opening before it contacts the flywheel?

The starter box wheel fits the width of the slot but the wheel wont go up high enough to contact the flywheel because it hits the ends of the slot.

Should I open up the hole in the chassis or get a different box?

Anyone with any ideas please let me know and what starter box are you guys using on the GT-2?
I'm using a extremely old serpent box for my gt2.
I had to narrow the wheel but the overall diameter was ok.
Thanks, 1armed.
So whats the 1/10th class going to look like for the summer anyone planning on running it or are you all going to bust out the Truggys again for the outdoor season?
Ill prolly race buggy and gt, what tires are everyone using on the gt's? Switches or pink tapers?
pink tapers own all
lotta guys been liking the jconcepts dd's in green compound. GQ said they were better than tapers
Word of mouth is the Panther Tires work better.
lmao right
Idea
getting my GT all ready for outdoor, anyone else with them get them ready for saturday nights under the lights at LH.
My GT-2 is ready for some Saturday night racing.
Quick question guys, for those of you that have been running the GT2 could you list any problems you have been haveing with them. I have one that should be here any minute and just wanted to see if there has been any real big issues that I need to address.
Put a dab of CA on the cvd pin retainer. Use the plastic chassis brace instead of the FT one and cut the center to post off the radio/fuel tank tray and drive the wheels off of it!
