So what do you guys use? My tires are shakey and pretty much knock the truck off the starterbox when i rev it. What balancer and putty do you guys use thats good.
and that shakiness is affecting handling more than you realize I'm sure, its not a good thing, LOL........after being shown how to glue, I must say my first set I did are pretty smooth while on the box under acceleration, take your time, trim things right, and just pay attention to what you are doing, it takes time until you have done it a million times I'm sure, but I think you can use some sort of a clay compound on the inside of the wheel, Im not really positive, Mike C can give you the low down on this topic
go down to the hobby shop and tell scott or nate to hook ya up with one. tell them not the magnetic ones . jimbo rod and i are using the same ones from down there and they have boxes of clay that will last you a long time.
makes a BIG difference even in the way the truck jumps, in the air. dont remember the company but they know which one. ive been using a car hub to place between the cones because the hole in the rim is bigger than the cones
ya. i just need to know what balancer will fit. I know the one on amain says its for 1/8 offroad but then it says buggy nothing about truggy.

alright i might do that but could you check what brand it is so i can check online too?
nope cant see that far im in oh. why not buy from the shop and help support the hobby your in. i can see if your talking about a large purchase,which scott will sometimes match, but really how much do you think your going to save here on a cheap item
its mostly about getting a ride there. My mom doesnt get home until 630 and my dad works about the same.

Mine is wood (base and legs) with (4) ball bearings screwed to the legs for a rod to spin on. Key was finding rod of the right diameter and i used an extra hub for wheel attachment.
For balancing I use the black "putty" from GMK. Racer's Edge also has something similar.
Wheels dont cause the car to vibrate like crazy on the box anymore and the buggy handles and jumps lots better than b4.
pick up a dubro pro balancer and grab a spare 17mm hub, i think it was like 30$ for the balancer at al's cant remember. Go down to michael's or a craft store and get some modeling clay for a whoping 2$
Put the tire on the balance and let it stop spinning on its own. mark the point directly above the center line on the rim, this is the High or light spot on the tire, this is where you will add clay. Add bits of clay until u can get that line to lay at 3 o clock or 9 o oclock or close to it. a real gentle spin is all u will need or it will take forever to stop spinning
You mean your not supposed to watch the wheel spin for an hour??? lol
Also what would you use for 10th scale off-road wheels (as in the balancer)?

alright thanks alot man. i would use just a mugen buggy or truggy hub? i heard buggy is better. Then arent i supposed to use some fuel line or sometinhg under it?
just use a buggy hub its shorter. the fuel tubing thing is for holding the wheel in place if you get the dubro ballancer there will be a shoulder on the shaft then a section that looks like this >(hub)<(spring)(washer)(piece of fuel tubing)

For my 1/10th tires, I use this <$10 balancer from GreatPlains or one of those generic parts companies. It is a steel rod with spikes at each end that you hold between your fingers. Some nuts hold the tire on. It is easy to pack in the tool bag, cheap, and works.
