Ok guys and girls how many of us race carpet cars?? Really the only carpet track (in the area) is up noth and kinda hard for some of us to get too. Anywhoo, we were kicking the idea around of maybe building a carpet track in Naperville. I would just like to get an idea of how many of ya guys and girls woud be intersted. Please feel free to offer up any ideas and comments.
Thanks
Zack
Last Winter I helped get a carpet program running on the Northwest side of the city. We're ready for our second indoor season, at Strictly RC. So just to let you know there is a carpet track besides Harbor Hobby in Winthrop Harbor IL.

I can give you info on how we did it, and who/what/where to get most of what you'll need to race. Feel free to call or email me if you like.

It would be great to have another track in the area.

LHR has carpet indoor, but thats for minis
I like the idea. I'm in N'ville.
I am 10 mins. from Naperville,......maybe? I know Tim Kasper and Ed Hawkins are racing at Harbor Hobby this winter. They said it is a well run track.
Ok got an update!!! From what I have been told is that we have a location and the "OK" from the landlord. Now the only thing needed is a green light from the Naperville city council and we are good to start building! Look for more information soon
yes i just heard about it and i am very exicited i get wait to get back into racing. i heard the track could about 40' x 80' feet
::UPDATE:: As of right now things are on hold due to the City of Naperville (insert choice words here) due to how its zoned and some other bull but, if there is a will there is a way and we should get around this little problem very soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
should of just threw some Ozite down, opened up the folding tables and plugged the chargers in. Worse case is they'd tell you to roll your carpet up and stop playing with toy cars.
Wish it was that easy Kenji!
any updates for the new track i heard dec 1 was the estimated dead line
Most guys if not all the ones who race on carpet....touring cars do not visit this forum.

I can tell you that if you open a carpet track for touring car racing in Naperville it should be successful. This is of course if the facility is nice, racing is well run and orgranized....oh and fun Smile
I have heard this track is done and open....but I am not 100% on this.
Jeeze...all it takes is a phone call. Why make guesses?

I called and they said it's not happening at this point in time. Paperwork and zoning issues took too long. There is a possibility they will be opening the track this coming Fall 2008. It will be dependent on the space still being available at that time. So for right now there is no indoor carpet track.
