Has anyone here made some? I am bored with making salsas and have a ton of habanero peppers along with other chiles and milder peppers. I am thinking of making my own hot sauce(s) and was curious if anyone else has. I have a feeling taste testing habanero sauces is one painful process. Haha
Why I do i see this making the news......

Just keeps some popsicle (sp?) handy to cool off your cornhole. Big GrinBig Grin
Rocco.... I have a house now and am thrilled to be out of the dorms.

Tommy..... you're doing something wrong.

The only thing I am worried about is people thinking that I'm growing weed. I want to try growing this pepper that is twice as hot as a habanero but the climate here isn't quite right, and it's definitely the wrong time of year to try... Indoors it is.
Throw it all in a blender with a little viniger and salt and enjoy...till you blow out your a**!
See that's the route that I don't want to go. Anyone can make something ridiculously hot. I want to get some flavor with it...

that defeats the purpose of it. your not supposed to taste it.

quote of the week!
I dont think habaneros are used as the main pepper in any salsa.... I think they are used sparingly due to their extremley high heat factor

You are right. In salsa I may only add a couple to give it heat. In a hot sauce though there will be a lot more of them. I use chilies and other peppers to dictate taste for the most part and habaneros for heat and less for taste.

And I got "quote of the year" earlier this year! Damn I'm doing good! lol
the old rican guy next store makes hot sauce and salsa all time. he uses jalapeno habenero lots and lots of garlic, cilantro stuff like that. herbs for flavor peppers for spice. he also dried up like a pound of habeneros and ground it to a salt like consistency for using as a spice, also he mows my lawn 2 times a week and keeps the weeds down along the fence. LOL
stay away from the seeds.
