We had a customer come in today with what looked to be a stadium truck, but oddly familiar and wanted to see what it would take to get it running. When he put it on the counter I found out why to looked familiar, it was the Nitro Pede that was stolen out of my Cherokee 2.5 years ago! The guy didn't believe it was stolen from me but claimed he knew the guy he got it from and was going to talk to the St. Charles Police about it (no, I'm not holding my breath on that). I told him I still have all the police paperwork and reciepts for it and was even able to show him pictures of the truck I have on my Photobucket account. If his side of the story is on the "up and up", this could get interesting! I probably should have called police myself, but I was just too stunned to see this truck again. Other than a healthy coating of dust, it looked just like it did the day it was stolen, this truck has just been sitting since it was stolen:eek::eek::eek:

Here's the only pics I have of the truck

Like I said, I should have called the police right then and there, but I was so stunned I just went blank on what to do and I let him leave with it! I only got the guy's first name, but he looked like someone who went to WCCHS when I was a student there, so I may have to dig up my freshman yearbook tomorrow and see if I'm right.........................
wow goodluck and hopefully you get it back
what hobby shop do you work at? if he is the one that stole it, ill bet he wont show up there anymore. i work at al's....ill keep an eye out for the truck if he doesnt show up by you.
Thanks cr4sh, you might mention this to Chip and see if he remembers it. I came by and told them what happened on my next day off after this happened as well as visiting LH and calling the other HTU's in the area. I'm going to call the other HTU's in the area and let them know it's resurfaced tomorrow (got the day off.) I work at the St. Charles HobbyTown USA, it was actually stolen from behind the store on SuperBowl Sunday '05 and needs a Transmitter, Reciever, and Rx pack, but I hadn't progressed much past where it was at in these pics (Different Digger body, RPM Slingshots with new, unused Geolanders) and it may not be safe to try and drive as is. The engine was never broken in, I hadn't filled the shocks, there's no lock-tite on anything metal on metal since I was just piecing it together over the winter. I still can't believe how much I spent on that thing and I've never figured out a better way to route the exhaust out of it. If that thing ever gets running, it could be a pretty wild and high strung ride!
I'd be like WTF dude. you arent going anywhere sit tight pal.
ill give chip a call on his cell to fill him in. ill have him look at the pics...if anyone will remember it...he will.
that guy has the memory of an elephant
just an idea if you can find out who it is call the st charles police or search for his name in the phone book and call his local police
If you ever talk to him, Tom Ozuk as well as Cindy were both working that day too.
^^ yeah...they run the place.

ur deffinatley gonna get this thing back...iif it stays local.

may be a different story if you spooked they guy enough to put it on ebay.
(that is if it is the same one)
illm keep my eye out if i see anything or hear anything
Thanks guys, it's appreciated!
joe !!! WTF!!!!

you let it walk out of the store! Remind me to slap you in your big shaggy head next time i see you!!!
^^^ thats what i was thinkin...but i understand that if he wasnt 100% sure...you cant blame a customer of theft.
Wow thats weird....

Hope you get it back.
I never got the chance to talk to the StC Police tuesday, Mike asked me to work a few hours at the Naperville store before I had a chance to get cleaned up and head over there. I'm going to try again on my day off tomorrow. I may have to pick up a new diff for me E-Pede while I'm out there, I put one of the Velineon's in it and blew it out on the second pack. I managed to tear the right rear stub axle in half with in 5 minutes on the first pack!
