Our house lost power at 3pm and still hasn't come back. Sump was full and some parts of the basement slowly start to let water in. We were forced to grab a pitcher and a bunch of buckets and start manually getting the water out of the sump.

After 20+ full buckets of water, the water level finally got below the drain pipes and we were in the clear. 20 minutes later it started to rise again. My brother and I are eating a late dinner and will probably have to move another 20 buckets of water outside into the street Sad.

Power please come back!
Dude that sucks, I was on my way to a golf tournament and it started gusting at around 70 mph and it was pouring rain. Hope you get your power back on soon
All I gotta say is, god bless my iPhone. Music, movies and Internet at my finger tips.
HEy you stupid greeks!!!!

Ya know they Make battery back up systems for sump pumps....
I totally got one of those - on ebay - purchased but uninstalled for half off. It has save me a lot of fear and frustration.
sorry to hear that tune. if it makes you feel anybetter. i was corralling customers in our tornado shelter at my job for like and hour. then spent like 2 hours squeegying water out of the store without power. the rain was crazy. we were watching water pour off of the business across from us that never hit the ground. the water rolled of the lip of the roof and the wind was catchin it bout 12 inches into the fall and blowing it back up onto the roof.

it was the craziest thing ive ever seen.
I was at als at about 325 when the tornado wins hit DAMN! The patio furniture from next door ended up in the parking lot, it was nuts at LH too

rt 47 was flooded at every low spot trees down and the power still out
this morning. had one spot where the water carried all the gravel from
this driveway and the shoulder of the road . didnt see it in time, loaded,
thought i was going to blow my airbags
come on tune you had to of herd my little ace in the hole ads
i tried to convince my parents to at least get a generator, but their too cheap and stubborn. They'd rather have me haul out water in buckets. That's the free solution! Power is still out. Going on 16 hours now.

allen42r, i have no idea what you're talking about, lol.
Cheap greeks. Tune is prolly using tupperware to move that water, to damn cheap to buy a good bucket too. Listen to rocco, Battery Back-up.

Looked at the radar and we have more coming this way within the next half-hour or so. mostly south tho...WTF already.

sup AL?!
No, LOL. They're buckets we grabbed from the restaurant. After yesterday, I'm gonna try and convince them. They're stubborn old greeks...
hey joe did you see that k truggy thread?

Mr. Tune GET ONE OF THESE! It saved my basement and my shop last night!
A small generator is nice to keep around also.
When the power is out that long. You could keep a few lights on and the fridge cold so you dont lose all your food.
and those battery backups will drain eventually, so when the power goes off, start moving your stuff to higher ground, just in case the power is off longer than the battery can handle.
LMFAO!!! Dimo take some serious abuse in here! hahahahhaha
we need a generator more than a battery backup pump. Power is still out at home and more rain is in the forecast. How long can a battery backup last? We haven't had power for almost 12 hours now.

Just for the love of god don't run the thing inside the house! Little common sense here.
LOL, it would be in the garage, connected via extension cords to the sump pump and fridge.
