I know this is going to seem like a repeat question, but I have been looking in the forum, for an hour, and on google for an hour trying to find a website about sealing an engine. help?
get some air seal from RE, i believe TKO has it in stock. take of the back plate put some seal evenly on the parts that come in contact with the block only, so a couple mm from the edge of the backplate, do the same on the carb, put some seal on the neck of the carb around the outside and cover the two sides of the pinch bolt with it
Permatex Ultra Copper Sensor safe high temp silicone sealer part#81878 will work also and may be cheaper. My cost at work is 3.22 + tax.
I have blue and Copper I believe.

I will clean it up and give it a shot.

I was just asking cause I remember a link that had pics and stuff. Im a Visual Learner. >_<
hey bro pick up the latest issue of RC car, 3 pages with pics on sealing a motor; perfect right up for ya
^^^ thats a good freakin find man. i try to explain to sooo many people how to seal engines. most dont seem to get it. i dont think im a good teacher. but yeah, it doesnt get any more cut and dry than that.

i recommend doing this to any new engine you purchase... you wouldnt beleive how many engines come from the factory with leaks. (low to mid grade mills)

most likley, high end mills are fine.
it's just call straight up RC Car? I'll go look today, see if I can find it.

I'm kind of a Visual and Auditory learner, I need pics to understand it better, but for the most part I know what you guys mean.
I went to try and find this mag today, and I can't find anything in any of the ones I looked at. can someone clarify which mag exactly?

Even high end mills are suspect to it.

Its not like these engines are dyno tested before they leave the factory. Its just a quick visual inspection most of the time.

The carb neck seems to be one of the biggest culprits for leaks.
RC Car magazine a Hi Torque publication. There is a mugen MTX 4R and an Xb8 EC on the cover its the OCT 2007 issue. or you can go online and get a digital subscription
I could get it at Leisure Hours correct?
should be able to
aight i'll have to take a spin im super bored lol
FYI ...plus they have a 8th scale shootout, for what it's worth....
thats about a year or more old
Point taken...date is 3/15/2007

But I have limited experience in 8th scale so it's cool to read actual comparisons of 3 top buggies instead of individual reviews. It sorta burns me how each buggy gets similar marks in those reviews.

My .02

Sorry...off topic
I wouldnt say that was one of the most "honest" reviews ive ever read
Back on topic... I remember reading a similar article where they also took out the needles and put sealant on those threads too.

And Czech....what's not "honest" about the article? Just curious b/c u have probably driven them all as well.
my bad im thinking about the older one with the 5 buggys I just read the one ur talking about, I would say its pretty legit. The older one was full of crap imo though
i'll have to wait till the newest issue comes out to snag it, its not out at walmart yet.
