is there a rebuild kit for the Revo diffs? I seem to have smoked one last night, I did the search thing, saw a lot of talk about them, and what oil, but nothing as far as a rebuild. thanks guys!
I think you have to buy a new one
What part of the diff is bad? I don't think they sell a kit to rebuild the whole thing. If you're looking to go that route, your best option is to buy a complete diff off of ebay. They can be had for cheaper than buying all the parts separate.

As far as oils are concerned, I always ran 30k in the front and 10k in the rear.
nah Tune, not ebay man.. they don't sell a bag of parts to rebuild the diff like HPI does for the savage? I want to go to LH during lunch and grab the parts so I can rebuild the beast tonight! Big Grin

or an entire diff to drop right in would be cool..
thanks man!
I'm not talking about bags of individual parts to rebuild a diff. Those are easy to find. I was talking about buying a complete diff, assembled and ready to go. They're easy to find on ebay. They're usually sold as pull offs from a new kit. Much cheaper than buying several bags with different parts to rebuild the whole thing.

If you need just one thing, then ok. But of you need the housing and the gears and everything else, buy it as a whole, you'll save more money that way.
Mr. Tune,

I'm going to do both I think.. seems I have enough spares to build two of everything, it's time to start working on some revo parts.. I'll pick up what I need this afternoon, and then try to score a complete diff off of ebay or something for a spare.. thanks for the help!
Cool. That's how I used to do it. Always nice to have a spare full diff in the pit box. Easier to replace the whole thing on the fly then rebuilding it.

Having a full spare allows you to rebuild a busted diff at your leisure Smile.
Exactly.. I have an entire t-maxx and savage in spares under my kitchen sink... I just started using the revo so no time for my spares to get built up yet, but I'll have two sets of gears before the end of the day at least...

at my leisure.. I do my best work between midnight and 3am! Big Grin
I don't know what engines you guys are running, but I've got like 6 gallons on my REVO and i've never blow a diff. Are you greasing the ring and pinion gears before you assembled?
J-Dub,

I was running a 3.3 in it, am swapping over to an OS 18TM for it. I don't know the condition of them prior to me owning it though. I've got gallons on my t-maxx diffs, no problems at all.
Sounds like you already have your answers, but soemthing else to consider....

If you do get just one spare to keep in your box, you may want to keep it dry until you know which end it's going into..if you run different diff wts in the F-R. If you get 2 spares, you can fill them to match you setup and tag them accordingly.

Getting part-out brand new diff from eBay or soemwhere like that is cheap..I got two for $24 (I think).
