No joking, my buddy just dropped off his vintage 1986 Tamiya Hornet and Futaba Magnum JR for me to try to bring back to life. Actually, I saw in a recent RC Driver issue that Tamiya just reissued this thing!!!

It needs the shocks rebuilt and some wheel bearings. I'll put a little better motor in it and a fresh battery. I need a cheap ESC. Anyone got one for sale? Anyone have any old parts? Ideas?
no way! that was my first rc car. i want it!
i have a lrp runner if ya need it 20 shipped i guess...
That was my first rc car too. Not sure where it is, probably packed away in a box somewhere.
my first was a tamiya hotshot.
My first hobby class RC was a Kyosho Raider.
is it the old hornet or the super hornet. i had the super hornet that thing was really fun
It's a "The Hornet" It's my buddies but he wants me to get it up and running for him. He wants to give it to his 4 year old nephew. I think the kid is too young. Maybe I can get my buddy hooked on R/C again!! That's my master plan......

Slim, I'll ask him about the ESC. He'll probably take it.
I have a new ESC out of a Stampeed. LMK if ya want it. I think 20.00 would be a good price.....
Hey, why hasn't anyone PM'd me with details on this deal? I need this ESC by this weekend. Who has one?

PM me with a phone number so I can give you my UPS number, address, and PayPal info.

Thanks.
Hornet , Hotshot, Raider, that sure brings back some memories. My first R/C was a Tamiya Boomerang followed by a Kyosho Double dare...Those were the days.
why dont you put new stuff in it. thats what i am going to do to my super hornet once i get brushless system or im gonna put the brushless in the hornet and it will fly.

Anytime Baby lol
my first was a kyosho high rider corvette that i still own. I also have a turbo ultima and a raider arr.

tamiya has just released the grasshopper and lunchbox again.
they also have the old hornet out to
Wow, that does bring back some memories......
My first was the Tamiya Frog, but my two buddies had the Raider and a Grasshopper Big Grin
I had a Raider Smile
Ok guys, glad that I could take you down memory lane. Now, who has a cheap used ESC for sale to put in this thing?

Actually my first RC truck was a Kyosho Big Boss.
if its for a four year old why dont you just buy a cheap esc
I am trying to buy a cheap esc but no one who says they have one is giving me details to finish the deal.
the Duratrax streak is only $35 at Al's ...it can go to 8 cells and a 10T motor. But it has no reverse. It's more or less a budget race ESC.
Gabe, thanks for the info but I'm thinking of something used that handles 6-7 cells w/reverse for $25-30 shipped.
Good luck finding it! I wish I had one to sell ya but I got rid of all my Electric stuff a couple years ago.
I had a Hornet. It was my second R/c. My first was a Tamiya Super Champ. All aluminum and fiberglass! A tank! I sold my Hornet for a Kyosho Ultima which I still have.

Oh, sorry, i dont have a spare esc, but the hornet was made to use a manual speed control anyway. Just jump the motor to the battery and let her rip LOL!
my first was that Tamiya bush Devil. and i still have it!
The dynamite Tazer is good to a 19 turn motor is a forward and reverse and is about 30 bucks brand new. I highly doubt a 4 year old will be using anything but a stock motor for years.

Also you might think about making 4 cell packs for the kid so he can learn much faster.
I have a traxxas XL1 ESC, brand new. They sell for 39.99@ Tower. I'll sell it for 30.00+ shipping if you need it. LMK. PM me if that's ok with you Fully proportional forward and reverse.
