I'll be looking to upgrade the site this weekend. Just giving everyone a heads up on a few changes.

The gallery will be no more! If you have any pictures that you need to keep, get in there and save em. I'll keep the actual files in place for a few months so it doesn't turn any newly linked pics into red x's right away, but you won't be able to delete or add any pics to the old gallery system. If your haven't already, the new image hosting system is already in place and working. That's the one I'm gonna stick with.

You also might see a change in the forum structure too. I think I'll be doing away with the 'meeting spot', 'onroad' and 'other' forums. Off road will get changed to racing with the LHR forum under it as a sub forum and adding a bashing forum. I'll also be looking for 2 new mods to police the bashing forum. I've noticed a fast decline with the bashers visiting this site and would like to get those members back. I have 2 members in my mind right now that I think would be great candidates for the position and have supported the site for many years.

And last but not least, more arcade games!!! I have found a site that has them for download and I'll be looking for additions soon after the site updates!

Anyone who has an opinion or comment, speak up or forever hold your peace!
Will the topics that usually go in meeting spot just go in the off-topic then?

Sounds good otherwise.
Haven't decided where I'll move them yet. I may try to do my best and move them to whatever section seems best.
OK. Just wonderin'. Thanks.
no offense but you kinda contradict yourself above.

you say you want to get more of the bashers back here but you are getting rid of the meeting spot forum and merging it somewhere else????

just about all the posts in that forum are for bashers, since bashers meet up at random places, granite every once in a while there is a post from the "racers" on a spot to meet up but it usually ends up that they go to leisure hours.

my thoughts are that you are just making harder for the bashers to come on this site and find out where the other bashers are

and i agree witht he addition of afew more mods i think the main reason that i see that this site has lost alot of the bashers is because the racers think they know it all and they like to put themselves up on a pedelstal, im not naming names so dont read into my statement too much, but mr tune i think you know what i mean with that statement, which can most likely be fixed with more mods.

also i think getting rid of the onroad thing isnt a good idea since onroad has started to pic up with the bashers the last few weeks, several bashers have started to get onroad cars for the friday night event, granite again we are not a huge group but there still is a good 20-30 people out there on fridays and every friday more and more people show up and it is fueling the onroad scence pretty good. and also with the addition of the inferno GT spec class there is going to be a lot more posts in that forum

just my opinion.

also if you need help witht he PHP programming hit me up, im pretty good with it, and if i cant figure it out my co worker is a PHP master and he wouldnt mind helping you out
He is making a whole basher forum with alll those threads in it......
Just because I'm removing it, doesn't mean all those posts will be gone. I'm don't plan on deleting any posts. Discussion of where to go can easily be done in a basher forum, just as race day setups can be done in the racing forum. Make more sense? Having a forum dedicated to one's interest with mods that share the same interests seems like the most logical solution.

The current setup on here has been almost untouched since the beginning. Back them there were no racers on these forums so the setup worked. It's been well document that the old system no longer works, so I'm gonna try something new. It's 2 different ways of enjoying rc's and should be 2 different forums, instead of all mixed up like it is now. Racers mod the race forums and bashers mod the bash forums. Here is what I envision...

A race forum where racers can have open discussions about race dates, track setups, etc.

A basher forum where bashers can have open discussions about bash sessions and locations, bashing setups, etc.
Also, to add another note. The for sale/trade forums will go bye bye in the future too! There will be a classified ad system in it's place instead. They way it'll stay more organized and clean, unlike the mess it is now.
Is bashing going to be completely seperate or a subgroup of racing? I am a little fuzzy on that. I think "racing" and bashing" should be main groups with subgroups. I also don't see why you would get rid of onroad..... especially with the inferno GT picking up and an increased interest I have seen in onroad. It is not near as popular as off road but it can't help it at all by getting rid of it.....

I have already stated my opinion on the for sale section. I think it needs stricter rules and more modding. Not enough sales are made here IMO to warrant fees to post.
Bashing will be it's own forum, not a subforum.

I never mentioned fees in my above post. Haven't made my final decision on that yet. But I can guarantee the for sale threads will be toast. There's far too many ads for what it is. A classified system with categories and whatnot would be tons better! Instead of everything littered in 1 place.
sounds like good idea with having a seperate raer thread and basher thread, but i think that you should keep the on road

Sounds good! I don't see anything wrong with doing away with the meeting section as it is called today then. And I assumed there would be fees as it sounded exactly like an idea tossed around a while back. Guess I shouldn't assume. I think a "re-design" and stricter policing/consequences could go a long way. Keep up the good work.
Since there won't be an off road forum, what's the point in having an on road forum?

While I haven't ruled out fees yet, when I update that section it won't have fees. It'll still be free.

Because off road fits into other categories like racing and bashing well??
I think if you cut the exposure of the new Spec IGT Class it won't grow as well as LH wants it to.
thats why there is going to be a Leisure racing forum, guys read Dimo has it all written out
tune sounds like a good setup. I especially like the more mods! I like the fact that there will be 2 main catagorys. That way people won't rip on people for bashing or racing. Us bashers feel a little out of place here anymore and it'll be nice to be more welcome amongst fellow bashers.
Thanks Mr. Tune on a well thought idea!
Sounds good Tune. The classified system WILL help out alot...

Also the basher mod watches the basher forums and racer mod watches the racer forums will work out I think...Some of the things that have happened here because mods do not know everyone because they dont go to x y and z places so they don't know person x, and now theres a disagreement...But if the more mods know more people in person, less sh!t will hit the fan I predict.
ok i dod not get the part that there was a seperat basher forum.

i do think there still should be an onroad and off road forums, maybe make it a tecnical forum that is ocked and to post in it it has to approved by the basher or racing mod that way it is a basic knowledge base for quick reference, i have seen this type of stuff on other forums and has worked out good
There's simply not enough demand for on-road to be seperated from the group. When guest come and view the forum and see almost zero activity in the onroad section it can put them off and make them go to other sites without ever giving this site a shot. If they're a racer, whether they race offroad or onroad, they'll see a racer forum and go in there to check out all the topics which will be mixed together. Racing is racing IMO. Same goes for the bashers as well.

Due to the added diversity with the members, I think it's better to seperate not by the kind of vehicle you choose to run, but by which way you like to enjoy the hobby. It will make it easier to talk with and share information with people of similar goals and interests.

The tech forums will remain unchanged as that don't matter what you do. Those all are universal topics which apply to everyone in the hobby.
Anything will make this site better! Well I can name a few more thing that should change but. . .. . . . ! Way to go Dimo! BTW Who are the new mods?
See segregation really does work Wink lol
